About this Cook
I am a young Zambian lady, who loves to experiment with food until i get what i want.i studied early childhood teaching and also did tailoring and designing.im currently working as a sales assistant.im the fist born in a family of three,my young brother dreams of becoming a police officer and so he`s doing everything he can to get in the police force.my baby sis want to become a nurse as soon as she`s done with her secondary education.im very passionate about food and my mother would always emphasis on making sure that you cook what people will fall in love with and she has so much inspired me.and so i try to impress everyone that eats my food.my cousins would always tease me for experimenting with food, they would sometimes say "you will one day feed us with poison with these experiments of yours" but hey i was glad when they would come back and beg for more food because slowly they were falling in love with my food.
My favorite things to cook
i love baking so much.i try some few recipes here and there but i still get drown back to baking stuff.i love to try out muffins and cakes.it just gives me a feeling of satisfaction.lately i have been into birthday cakes and im yet to learn.i plan to get to wedding cakes someday and oh my i know i will get there.i sometimes try out some soups and vegetarian stuff because some of my friends are vegetarians and i find it difficult to give them nicely made food that meets their taste.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my mother loves to get everyone together for Christmas.and so that's the best time when all of us gets together and prepare a big meal.during this time my mother will do a lot of baking and so i travel home in time to help her get everything in place.she will roast chickens and some cook a lot of different foods.that he have not eaten in a long time.she will put some traditional food together and so i enjoy to prepare them.its so much fun to cook besides my inspiring mum.i learn quite a lot from her.
My cooking triumphs
I felt so good when i first made a birthday cake for a little girl in the spring of 2006 and later her mother called me to tell me on how tasty the cake was and that her daughter had so much fun with the cake."wow" was the only word that i could say.and the next was when i made a pizza for the first time.we had some gathering so i thought to myself.we have had so much of cakes and so i needed to make something different.a pizza come to mind and i gave it a try and it was amazing on how everyone enjoyed it.it was so much fun and it made me feel so good.
My cooking tragedies
We had been planning for a Christmas party with the other Sunday school teachers at church for sometime, and we finally concluded that we were going to have a very big cake.i was given the task knowing i was the only one in our group that could bake,so i took up the responsibility.but since i had been roasting something in the oven the previous night,i forgot to put the right temperature, when i started baking.the cake got burned in less than 15 minutes.i was so discouraged and and disappointed.i wanted to cry or maybe hide myself from the shame of burning a cake.and to worsen the matter,i had no other ingredients to start afresh.what a tragedy it was.
