Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Very good! I tried it with water based tuna (well drained) and a brand of pickles and mayo that I don't like and it was good in spite of all that. I really like the dill. I served it on baguette with coleslaw. Would also have been great with lettuce and a bit of mustard. Thanks for the recipe.

Tea Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Great punch!! I was so excited when I found this recipe! It is just like the punch my grandmother used to make, which recipe got lost after she died. Luckily I remembered the main ingredients and was able to search for something similar. This is it! Thank you so much!

I also tried it with frozen chicken, tomato paste mixed with half the amount of sauce, a bit of wine and extra herbs. it came out very well. I served it on top of small pasta with Parmesan cheese.

Easy Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
I followed some of the advise from the comments and added onions and bell pepper, even a little bit of wine and just a bit of Parmesan cheese on top. It was good, I'll cook this again.

Au Gratin Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I expected more flavor, but it was a good recipe. I tried this recipe with gouda instead of swiss, added a pinch of pepper and garlic powder and put it in the microwave for 6 minutes (full power). I would cut the milk in half when cooking it in the microwave, since it came put a bit on the liquid side.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I cooked the apples and raisins with some butter before mixing, as one of the other people had advised, and added some maple syrup and it tasted great! I love this recipe and I use the crusts of the bread from when I make a big batch of cucumber sandwiches, so it doesn't go to waste. Perfect!

Savory Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I like this very much. I added celery, cilantro, a bit of sugar (although honey might have been better) and mustard.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
I added a teaspoon of jalapeno pepper and cumin, a small can of sweet corn and some tomato sauce to the beef. I also mixed part of the cheese with the mashed potatoes (I used the flake kind), and added some powered garlic too. I microwaved it, since I'm too lazy to preheat the oven, and it turned out just fine. Thanks for the recipe!

Savory Caribbean-Inspired Sweet Potato Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I prepared these with the sweet potatoes that grow in my country (purple on the outside and white on the inside, yellow when they are cooked). It worked pretty well, didn't crumble as much, but they did absorb all the oil and did not form a crust the way I would have wanted to. I skipped the jalapeƱo. I was also a bit confused about what sauce to serve this with, so I served them plain, but they were a bit dry for my taste, might try some tomato sauce next time; might also try adding an egg to see if they brown better and using less sugar to make them more savory. Thanks for the recipe.
