I am a mother of 2 and enjoy creating new recipes for my family. They have been my test subjects of many new creations. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I am not very good about measuring things because I learned how to cook by taste, trial and error, and watching my family cook. However, I am always looking for new ideas.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Filipino food! Seafood is one of my favorites. I also enjoy Italian and Mexican meals. Healthy dishes with lots of veggies is also a favorite of mine!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy teaching others to cook and learning from watching other people. I think you get more of the authentic experience if you watch and observe instead of following a recipe because sometimes the recipe doesn't make enough or taste just how you want it to so there is always room to play around with it.
My cooking triumphs
I started learning to cook in my mother's kitchen in the Philippines by watching her when I was 3 years old. However, I am always a little stubborn and don't like people snooping in my kitchen. LOL! My first Thanksgiving Dinner made completely by me was filled with a combination of American food (traditional) and Filipino foods.
My cooking tragedies
At some of my "broke times" I have attempted to take random things from our pantry to make a meal and sometimes the kids just look at me like I have lost my mind. Some of it was good and then again, there were sometimes we ended up settling for soup or sandwiches instead.
