This really is a 5 star soup. I made this for my Russian family (Russians are mushroom lovers) and the mother said this was the best soup she ever had. Keep in mind this woman used to pick wild mushrooms in a Russian forest!
I used fresh baby bellas, regular paprika, and was very liberal with the dill inside the soup as well as garnish. It turns out to be thick, rich and heavy on the mushrooms.
I followed one woman's suggestion and added a brick of cream cheese, chuck roast, and poured over noodles. This combination lasted 2 people for 3 days and was soul filling.
This soup is something I save for a special occasion or If I feel I really deserve a treat. I'd say this soup is time consuming, and requires a little forethought to be organized throughout the cooking process.
