Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2013
Oh this was soooooo good, I made it with Ground Turkey and wow my husband and I loved it. Did not have any bell peppers but it was still great, we did spice it up a little adding some cayenne pepper, and a little more garlic powder, and since I had some left over tomato paste we used that and added some water, plus a little Worcestershire sauce. This puts manwich and the packaged stuff to shame.

Smothered Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
This was wonderful, the caramelized onions and the blue cheese on top of the steak made it go from ordinary to something special. I followed the recipe that was here and did not make any changes at all.

Italian Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
I loved this recipe, I used ground turkey and potatoes instead of macaroni, I also did not have any cabbage so I did not use that. Oh and we added some frozen mixed veggies in, and it was a great addition, plus turkey stock I had frozen from our turkey at Thanksgiving and no water just the stock, I think that is why it has great flavor we have been eating it for days.

Sausage Scramble

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
This was great, I used red rose potatoes with the skin on, cut them into cubes, put on a microwave plate and microwaved them to start the cooking process, I have found that this precooking helps them to cook all the way to the middle. I added the microwaved potatoes to the skillet with just a small amount of cooking oil, seasoned them and finished cooking them, I removed them and cooked some onion, green peppers and spicy sausage, pushed that to the side as one reader suggested, scrambled eggs (I only did 7 eggs and less milk) Then I added back in the potatoes and mixed it all together, added a few dashes of rooster sauce as well! Its yummy and I made it for dinner, it makes a lot so depending on the size of your family you may have left overs like we did.

This was so great, fresh and delicious, makes you never want to buy hummus again after eating this. We did not have the tahini so we used sesame oil and it was good.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
This is Great, I did some of the things that were suggested, such as to cut the butter back, and I kept the popcorn warm, in a big roasting pan, it made the caramel so much easier to get coated on the warm popcorn, and clean up was a breeze, I will be making this again. This will be a great snack for my husband since we are testing for a gluten intolerance, caramel corn is allowed.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
This was so good, I did not have any trouble with it separating, and I did what some of the others said and I stirred it off and on. After I put the chocolate on the top, and spread it around, I had crushed some candy canes in the food processor and put them on half the melted chocolate and the other half I had chopped some pecans and put them on the other half, and pressed each down, I cooled it in the fridge. I will make this again and it will make great gifts, will be sending my husband to work with some tomorrow!

My Navy Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Great flavor, I did however make a few changes, I soaked the beans over night, I then cut up 3 celery stocks and put in a saute pan with butter and added it to the soup along with the onion and carrots that I had just sauted up, I also had a nice ham bone that had some meat on it, and I used that to impart a nice flavor, I also cooked it a good many hours, my Husband said its the best navy bean I have made yet...Thanks :)

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
It was so good, I had a home made pie crust dough in the freezer that I used for the crust, it was fantastic, I added some red potatoes and it was hearty I did lower the temp as I had seen some reviewers say and I cooked it about 50 mins. Gee I am glad I never read 1-8 and went right to 9!!!

This recipe was soooooo good! I would do it just as the recipe says, its so tender and we had it with rice and some Lima beans (not always easy to find something that I like with Lima beans) I also made some homemade applesauce and it was a super tasty meal. I will make again for sure :)

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This was so good, I went ahead and made the homemade tortilla chips and as I read from some one else its worth it, I did not have any enchilada sauce so I used a jar of salsa that I had and it was great...somewhat hot but that is how my husband likes it...oh and I used 2 frozen chicken breasts and after they were cooked I just cut them off the bone and put them back in the soup. Hope you try it! Thanks for the recipe

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
These were great, I cut the hot dogs in half and used a popsicle stick, I also used the idea other person had and that was to roll the hot dogs in corn starch before coating them in batter. Oh and I used a tall glass as suggested and it worked great, the batter got a little thick so I thinned it with just a touch of water, so as to make the hot dog be able to go into the batter better. My husband just loved them as did I...thanks for the recipe.
