Slow Cooker Chile Verde

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
This was very good! I used a jar of verde enchilada sauce, and drained a jar of Picante verde garlic salsa, just added the veggies from it. I was afraid using the whole jar with the juice would make it too thin. There is a lot of liquid, but it is so good I could drink it! Very good with rice.

Grilled Bok Choy

That was awesome! Thanks! Only thing I did differently was put it in a veggie basket. Next time will add onion and maybe mushrooms. But this really was good.

Apple Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I have made this before and really liked it. After reading the reviews I will try salting the cabbage in a collander to get some of the moisture out. Also soaking the apples in lemon water is a great tip. I love reading the comments because you see how different everyone's taste is! Some love onions, some don't. I would never think of putting pineapple in a cole slaw, but might try it someday.

Ok, that was awesome! I used what I got at the farmers market this morning and will definitely make it again. Thanks for a great, easy recipe!

Margaritas to Die For

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
Made a big batch of the mix last night for a party tomorrow. Of course I had to taste test it when I got home from work. It is the best margarita mix I've ever had. Like someone suggested, instead of zesting I used a veggie peeler and it worked great. I used a medium priced 100% agave white tequila, and a medium priced Grand M. type liquor, and made a martini. 2 oz tequila, 1 oz GM, filled shaker with ice, then added 10-12 oz of the mix and shook it up. Made 2 servings. Will be making this often.

Thai Cucumber Tomato Salad

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
Great starter recipe. I added chopped snow peas, sweet peppers, parsley. Also added Shirachri (?) rooster sauce to the dressing. Gave it a nice kick.

Smoked Salmon Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
Just made it for a party tomorrow and it tastes pretty darn good! Can't wait to try it after the flavors meld. Totally agree with all the suggestions: Added lemon juice (a must!), added sour cream to make it creamier, I added more of all the seasonings and more of the hot sauce. Next time I'll add a few capers. I plan on serving them separately this time. Happy holidays!

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Wow. This was very good. I used green onions and seasoned w/Lawry's season salt and Cavendars Greek seasoning. It was a big hit at a work luncheon.

Brunch on the Bayou

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
Wow! This was a big hit at a recent party. It made a ton and was very good the next day for breakfast. It was also very convenient to assemble the day before. I used ingredients I had on hand (ground vinison sausage), and a slightly different cheese mixture, but it was wonderful. Right before cooking I added chopped artichoke hearts (frozen but thawed), and mushrooms. The kids wouldn't touch it, but that was the plan! ha! Thanks for a great recipe that I will definitely serve again.

Frogmore Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2005
I enjoyed this recipe very much. This summer I added a twist (or two). Right after I added the shrimp I added fresh asparagus and frozen artichoke hearts. Surprisingly, the kids gobbled it up!

Strawberry and Feta Salad

I really enjoyed this salad. It has an interesting combination of flavors. I now make this dressing and keep on hand. It's good on any kind of green salad.
