Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2011
This is really good, I'd probably put a little less hot sauce in there as it overpowered the dip but that depends on the brand of hot sauce used. Served it with celery and tortilla chips. Made it in a crockpot to keep it hot - but probably prefer to layer it in a dish instead. Next time I'm going to try with ground chicken and will omit the cheddar cheese, not necessary.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
These tasted pretty good but the icing, I could do without. I didn't like it. Even though I mixed with a wooden spoon and tried real hard not to have many air pockets, It still came out cakey. I will try it again.

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
This recipe does not need any adjustments as far as the dough is concerned. Dough made exactly as the directions say, is quick and easy! It's a pretty good dough. It made 1 large one, 2 medium ones, and 1 small calzones. If you want to take the time and make real good dough, do so with another recipe but this is meant to be a quick and easy one! Now, cheddar cheese in a calzone? Never. I used a 15oz container of ricotta and sliced a large fresh mozzarella ball. I layered the ricotta down, then the veggies/meat items, and the mozzie on top of that. I omitted the egg, so I brushed the top with garlic butter after it came out of the oven. They still baked at the same temp for the same time. Served them with tomato sauce. It's pretty good!

This is the recipe I use every Thanksgiving!!! I LOVE it and don't change a thing to it. I make my own whipped cream and add a bit of cinnamon to the cream.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This recipe is unbelievably easy and so good! I loved it. First time I ever made a pot pie. I did have to make some changes with what I had. I used pillsbury dough boy's ready-made crusts. I made this after thanksgiving so I used left-over turkey. I used up turkey broth which had stuffing mixed up in it and added chicken broth to that to make it 1 3/4 cup. My husband I don't like peas or cooked celery so I used only carrots and green beans which I steamed. I also didn't have celery seeds so I used minced garlic and onion powder. I just placed the turkey and the steamed veggies in the pie and added the sauce over it. This recipe is mm-mm-good! Would love to make it more often but have to figure out how to make a smaller portion of it since it took us 3 nights to finish off 1 pie...

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This is an easy recipe to make in the crock pot which is what I did. I mixed all the ingredients except for the chicken in the crock pot and once everything was well mixed, I added the chicken which I diced up. I added a little bit of onion. I cooked it on low for about 4 hours. I only used 2 chicken breasts but left the other ingredients at the original amounts to have more sauce which did work out well to put more sauce over the pasta or rice. I would use the recipe "Italian dressing mix" from here instead of the packet from the store which is loaded with salt and fillers. It will give it more punch and flavor. I served it over rice to use up rice and chicken stock. My husband said it had a lot of flavor and it was good. We had broccoli along with it as well. I think it'd be better over pasta as the recipe calls for. Might add garlic next time.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Made it in the slow cooker... This is the first time I made a chili. I gave it a 4 because I made a change which did alter the recipe. To me, the original ingredients of this recipe seems it could be more watery than what we like for chili. So in place of the 46oz of tomato juice and 29oz of tomato sauce... I used 1-28oz can of tomato puree and 1-28oz can of crushed tomatoes as well as a 15oz can of petite diced tomatoes to have approx the same "fluid" amounts. I made sure the canned tomatoes were all low in salt or had "no salt added" to reduce the amount of "hidden salt" which is unnecessary. I also used brown sugar instead. I left the other ingredients the same. It turned out AWESOME. I LOVED it as well as my picky husband. Although I would add one jalapeno pepper diced, seeded, and veined to give it a bit more kick. We're using the left overs tonight to make 3-ways... Look forward to it! Thank you!!!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

This is so very good! My husband and I really enjoyed it. I did not change anything in the recipe. I used a gallon sized baggie to coat the meat with the flour and other ingredients. It was very helpful.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Made this for dinner tonight... It was pretty good. I only had the fish in the oven for 15mins because the fillets were fairly thin. I halved the recipe since I only fed two people. I added more garlic and listened to others about roasting the garlic. Next time I am going to leave the garlic raw. Went well with brown rice and steamed zucchini.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
This recipe is a huge hit at our tailgates! I use canned items that have no-salt-added in them, it makes for a bit healthier recipe. I also use Light Done Right Zesty Italian dressing by Kraft. As well as garlic powder rather than garlic salt. The ingredients alone provide enough flavor!

Lisa's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
This recipe is pretty good and I'm a stickler for mac and cheese. It is wrong in measurements. I scaled it to feed less people. Half this recipe is enough for 4 people just having mac n cheese for dinner. It is a different recipe. I only use 8oz of elbow macaroni. I added hot sauce with the milk to give it a spice. I also added 1/2 cup of milk.

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
This recipe is so great! It's thick, creamy, and very filling. I am going to halve the recipe next time for just two people. I used the slow cooker for mine, with no problem... I even had it cooking on high for 3.5 hours without realizing it and thought I ruined it, but didn't thankfully. I don't know why/how other people had runny, watery soup but I had no problem. I didn't cook the onions beforehand, I just put them in the cooker raw. I also didn't put in the bacon either, I saved it to garnish when we were ready to eat (I used ready-to-eat bacon which you can heat up in the microwave for however many you need/want - so convenient). Also added shredded cheese as a garnish too. I put a couple pinches of crushed red pepper flakes and a garlic clove minced to add more zing and flavor. I used lowfat evaporated milk and regular half and half. I also used reduced sodium chicken broth as well. The grocery store didn't have large potatoes unbagged... so I used 8 red-skinned, medium-sized potatoes instead. I also mashed half the potatoes as well before I added the creamy mixture. Mm Mm Mm. Thank you for sharing! It was perfect for a cool, fall day!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

This is so, so good. It gives the tilapia such great taste and a great variation! My fiance and I don't like mayonnaise, so we used miracle whip. I don't like celery salt nor have it available, so I used Lawry's seasoned salt instead. Mm Mm good! Thank you for sharing!
