About this Cook
My interest in cooking started with watching 'The French Chef' and 'The Galloping Gormet' with my mom when I was young. Still watch cooking shows to get ideas and inspiration.
My favorite things to cook
Ranges from Italian, to Argentinia, to Indoniesia, and American classics.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Red beans and Rice and Brown Sugar Brownies at the holiday season.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking my dad's Red beans and rice for a large group of folks for Mardi gras, and leaving with an empty pot! :)
My cooking tragedies
A pork tenderloin recipie with orange juice and chipoltles that was so hot as to be unedible. Never did that dish ever again.

Easy Garlic Chicken
One of the best recipes I have tried so far! I used a combination of both seasoned and panko bread crumbs, and parmesian cheese(grated)and pre-seasoned the chicken with salt, cayenne pepper, Spanish smoked hot paprika, dipped the pieces in the garlic butter mixture, covered with bread crumbs and baked for 1 hr. Came out great! Will put this in heavy rotation.

Chicken Quesadillas
I gave it 4 stars, but done as instructed, it ended up being 3 1/2 stars: First off, broiling the chicken, then cooking chicken breasts for an additional 10 min with the veggies made the chicken dry, the seasoning was not hot enough for me, and the chicken could have used some initial salt and pepper. Next time I will add some serrano chilies to the veggies for some added heat, season the chicken, add more chicken thighs than breasts and add some cayenne pepper to the mix for that heat. Having said that, it's a great idea for parties or potlucks, and kid friendly.

Simple Garlic Shrimp
The only tweak I made was to only add one of the 1 1/2 T of cold butter, as I like more of a thicker sauce than a soupy one. Simple recipe to execute. Kudos to Chef John!
