Rich Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
I just made this today for the first time. Didn't have bullion or corn starch that my Aunt's have used. I winged it totally, used flour, salt and pepper, giblets and water to get the consistency I wanted, and got kudos. For making it and it turning out just right! Nobody knew how and I sort of did thanks to my Aunt's...which I called, and the rest is history.

Dough Ornament Recipe

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2013
I didn't count how many I made, but their cute! Forgot to use warm water so not sure about that difference. I used food coloring in them, Got a marbled look to some. They are Lavender and Pink. Tomorrow's more like Green and Red. One question: Storing the extra dough since only flour, salt and water I hope just a air tight bag would be okay for awhile. What's the suggestion for storage beyond the next few days? Dough is protected for the night at least. Thank you.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2013
I love making my own Lemonade lately, but but I have to make twice as much because it doesn't last more than a couple couple of days! My container is part of that problem, said with a smile! :) This recipe is just right! Not tweaking this one!

Iced Tea II

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2013
Been making ice tea for decades, letting it sit for no more than 30 minutes with a timer to remind me to finish it. Pour into bottles and into the freezer to chill faster. End of day what's in the bottom goes into the freezer creating its own tea cube(ice cube). I use a 1 gallon size bag(Sams club).

French Egg and Bacon Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
Mom used to make something similar to this. Sometimes I have had the urge to make a sandwich out it since Bacon, eggs and toast are a staple for me at least once a week. It's fun to invent new recipes! This one is no different except for the Cinnamon that I add to it!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2013
I have been making Chicken and Dumplings in a huge pan for years and had to reduce the recipe to 2 quart size [2qt Slow Cooker]. I have not ever put a onion in it, not even my Mom did. We used, 1 cup of flour, salt and pepper, and milk for the broth, not cream of anything though I considered cream of Chicken, or broth the last time I made it.

Chef John's Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
Tried making SCONES the first time about 8 months ago while I was flipping through cook books for a descent recipe for them. Then made them with Brown Sugar and Cinnamon. Hot is best. I haven't seen any Currants and have an allergy to sour cream, but every recipe came with a challenge to add my own flavors. I used 1 cup pancake mix (Krustez or Bisquick which is what the recipe book said, So I used what I had available), 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup Brown Sugar and 1 Tbls of Cinnamon.

Valencian Savory Empanadas

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
Chucked the Onion(allergy), the rest was great. The biggest problem I had was rolling out the dough thin enough. I made my own dough for it instead of pizza dough. I have also used crescent rolls which gives them a buttery taste. Stuff-able with anything, just don't over stuff them :D
