Gingerbread Boys

This recipe is awesome. I made the dough with my kids this morning and let it sit in the fridge for about 2 hours. It rolls out beautifully and does not spread when baking. The flavor is mild and all of my kids liked the dough and the cookies. I did add a splash of vanilla and used nutmeg instead of cloves. Thanks for the new recipe we will use for years to come!!!

I made this for Christmas. It set up perfectly and was creamy. I drizzled the top with dark chocolate.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
These cookies are fantastic. After the dough is chilled it rolls out beautifully. I used powdered sugar to roll it out. The dough holds it shape when baked. It is good for detailed cookie cutters and was easy for my kids to use. Thanks for the recipe!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
I am giving 5 stars because this dough is so easy to make and work with. I do not have a bread machine and it came out beautifully. It tasted great also. My only tip is roll the dough out pretty thin and follow the directions to roll tightly. Some of my cresents came apart in baking. I look forward to using this dough many ways. Thanks.

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
I made these biscuits this afternoon to use in my Thanksgiving dressing and they are fantastic. I did forget the cream of tartar and I doubled the recipe. The biscuits sat on the counter for about 20 minutes while my cornbread was baking. They took longer than 10 minutes to bake but were pretty big. My 3 year old daughter ate on after her nap and loved it! Thanks for the recipe.

Peanut Butter Cookies IX

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
This is a fantastic recipe. I doubled the recipe for Labor Day and ground up the oats in the blender -- to disguise them. Kids and adults both liked them. Thanks for a good new recipe combining two favorite cookies. This is a keeper!

Amy's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
This is a very good recipe. I added more chocolate chips because my husband asked for lots. The cookies are also very soft -- as DH likes. I used a french vanilla pudding mix. I usually add some almond extract to chocolate chip cookies and this would have been better with it as the flavor of the dough seems to be missing a little somthing. I will definitely make this again.

Pumpkin Bread IV

This is a good recipe. The bread is dense and sweet. However, in my opinion it could use more pumpkin flavor and definitely needs more spices.

Soft Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
I don't like to write a bad review, but this recipe did not work for us at all. The consistency was right for making cookies before I added in the milk - which I 'soured' with lemon juice instead of vinegar - but was more like cake batter after. I also used butter instead of shortening. After refrigerating for hours, I' dropped' a dozen on a cookie sheet because they would not roll and cut out. They spread out flat (the butter)and did not cook through in 12 minutes. I gave two stars because the taste had potential.

Chocolate Fudge Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2006
This is a good recipe. I made it with my kids today as a rainy day project. The dough mixes up quickly but did seem a little oily. (Maybe I measure wrong with the help of my 3 & 4 year olds!) The cookies are soft. I used a german choc cake mix and frosted with canned vanilla frosting. Make sure to bake them long enough so they don't fall apart after cooling.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
This is a fantastic and simple recipe. I make is often for my family. FOr us, it makes two pizza crusts as my husband prefers his crust not to be too thick. I add some basil, garlic, oregano, etc. to the dough. I have also made calzones with this dough and they turn out well. Thanks for this recipe!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2005
These are the first muffins I have made from scratch that are as good as the muffins you get out of a box. I added the zest of two lemons as I had just bought a microplane and wanted to try it out. I got 12 muffins and two small loaves of bread from this recipe.

Jam Kolaches

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I had never had or makde Kolaches before I tried this recipe. They were a little like small 'fried' pies. The cookies were not very sweet and turned out very well. Everyone liked them. The dough was easy to work with but did take a little bit of time!

New England Dinner

My family really liked this recipe. I did add carrots and used chicken stock instead of water. I also sauteed the sausage in a skillet to get rid of some of the fat before putting it into the oven. Overall, this was very easy and tasted great.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2004
This is a fantastic recipe. It takes very little attention from you to get it done and turns out with a nice crispy crust and soft chewy interior. I made three loaves from this recipe and sprinkled one with garlic salt on top of the egg wash. Parmesan cheese or other herbs would be good as well. Thanks for this easy and inexpensive recipe!
