Got tons of compliments on this for superbowl! Made it just as is. I did use a tad more chicken broth and used corn flour to thicken! This recipe is a true keeper! Thanks!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
I used to cook for a well know Chicago Italian restaurant. This is the recipe they use to a T! You can even mix all the ingred together and heat stirring constantly over low-med heat until thick. Romano is KEY for flavor! (if you use only parm, it will be bland) Nutmeg brings out the creaminess and also importaint!. If you want this thicker, add 1 extra yolk. It really does not change the flavor and will thicken much more, and quicker. (we did that on really busy nights:) You can use any pasta and add broccoli, garlic, shrimp, chicken... anything you might want! The possiblities are endless! YUM!!!!! try this recipe! I NEVER had this sauce break once! Belive me I have made this sauce HUNDREDS of times! Stirring constantly over a med or low heat will do the trick! TRY THIS YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
I was looking for a fast and easy recipe my whole family would like. This was it! This is really Good. I used a sausage and green pepper spaghetti sauce and I slightly nuked (30 sec between paper towels) the pepperoni to get out some of the excess oil. I followed to a T and it was a smash hit. Nice easy dinner, 1000 times better than a box mix!!!!!!!!!! Hubby and fussy kids ate it all!

My best friend makes this salad and I love it! I added chicken to this (the pre grilled stuff from the store, I just cut it up and added- how easy is that??). I also used a small splash of sesame oil w/ peanut oil, and used rice vinegar for the oil and vinegar in this recipe. it was delish! Even the kiddies liked it. Thanks for this recipe! It is a keeper!

Fruit Cocktail Cake VI

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
My mom used to make this when I was a kid. It is soooo good. I call it ugly cake because it is not an attractive cake what so ever, but 1 bite and you are in ooey, gooey heaven! My husband turned his nose up at it when I told him the name and he saw it. He even said "what the heck is that thing" But he did try it and he LOVED it! (he is not even a coconut fan...) We had friends over and he could not stop telling them about how good this cake was! (of couse making them taste it too)I only wish it was better for the waist line! Oh well, better get back to running, because, I refuse to give this cake up;O) Thanks for this recipe, just like Mom used to make.

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
This is my new turkey recipe! I use it every year now! Get rave reviews. I do cut back on the salt. I also cook this 1 day before. I carve my turkey and put it in broth in a pan (9x13). I have 17-20 people every year, and all I have to do with the turkey before dinner is put the pan in the oven to heat. It is moist and delish. The drippings make the BEST gravy! I take all the drippings and refigerate them. The oils harden on the top. I use that to make a roux to thicken the rest of the drippings. The gravey really is just the drippings, a little broth, and the roux to thicken. (I also strain it) Again, RAVE reviews! Try it it is really the best! -Thanks for this!

German Apple Pancake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Came out great. I used 1 extra apple, and cooked the apple mixtre on the stove top for a couple of minutes. I do not have a cast iron skillet, so I used the pampered Chef deep dish baker. I heated the baker in the oven first, poured the aplle mixture in the hot baker and then the egg mixtre, and baked it the recommended time and it came out great! Thanks for sharing!

Buttermilk Pancakes I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I have made this as written several times. LOVE IT! We make smaller pancakes, and 1 batch feeds our family of 4 just fine. May need to double when my 6 & * year olds get older, but it works for now! I also have made this with real buttermilk and the "homemade" one with lemon juice and milk. Get real buttermilk. It works with the other, but there is just something about the real buttermilk that makes this soooo good!

OMG!! I had this recipe 7 years ago and lost it! THANK YOU THANK YOU!! You made my summer:-)It is just to DIE FOR!!! I am going to make more now. Made this for a luau party and it was a HUGE hit. YYUUUMMMMM I just keep my pretzles in a snap lock container and add them to each bowl. Keeps a long time that way. And I make extra of those pretzles. (use the same amount of butter and sugar, just more pretzles) I can't stop eating them either!

Messy Taco Salad

YUMMM. I was looking for one like my mom used to make for our family when we were kids. I also add the tomatoes and the olives. LOVE this. The 1000 island really makes this recipe. Its kinda the equivalent of the "secret sauce" on a big mac! Thanks for this recipe!

Polish Meat and Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
This was REALLY good! My kids loved this.. I did not use all the oil. I did what another reviewer did, I first cooked the cut up polish sausage, then took it from the pan, I them put a small amount of EVOO in the pan and cooked the potatoes, onions and peppers. I also used lawry's season saly in place of the spices, and fresh ground black pepper. I added the sausage back in for the last 10 min of cooking. Very tasty!
