Saucy Stuffed Peppers

I did this recipe, but I'll go 1 less step. I did not sautee the onions or add the butter. No need. Ever since I was a kid, my mom never used a recipe but made peppers without precooking everything. This was the only recipe I could find that did not ask you to do that. She thought I was nuts to precook all my ingredients. I used this recipe for the amounts. I used uncle Bens converted rice and added one egg to the meat mixture. I also added italian seasoning along with the salt (must be kosher or sea salt huge difference!)and pepper. I used 85% lean ground beef. I had enourmous peppers, (i used 4) so I halved them and layed them in a deep baking dish. Instead of tomato sauce I used 2 jars of marinara and 1 jar of water. I poured them over the stuffed peppers and loosly covered the baking pan. I baked it at 300 for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. They came out perfect! My baking dish was stoneware, so I do not know if that makes a difference, but it was great! The peppers were not way overcooked at all. Try it this way. It is soooo easy! Thanks!

Parmesan Chicken

Great recipe! I used olive oil and garlic instead of egg on the chicken and baked it in the oven for 30 min at 350. PERFECT! Served it with Angel hair and marinara. Thanks!

Red Slush Punch

Made this for a 1st grade Valentines party. Huge Hit! This recipe makes a ton of punch, and putting the stuff in ziplock bags in the freezer allows me to have punch ready anytime! I am now called the punch lady. Everybody is asking for this recipe! It is a keeper! Thanks!

Cream-Filled Cupcakes

Made the recipe just as written and these are AWESOME! (I only had peanut oil, it worked out fine)I am not one to try recipes without a rating, but this was just what I was looking for for my boys (OK, for me too). They Loved them!!! Cake part is moist, filling is great,and even the cook time was perfect! My son wants me to make these for his birthday party instead of a bakery birthday cake. Now that should tell you how good these are!

Taco Seasoning I

I made this because I promised my som his favorite dinner, Tacos. We were out of seasoning and I decided to check here for a recipe. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A MIX AGAIN! This makes a super taco seasoning. I add dry minced onion to it as well. Thanks for saving my promise to my son and giving us an authentic tasting seasoning recipe.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Thank you for the best Chili Recipe. I have been making chili for years, I would doctor up a dry mix, good, but this was the best chili I have ever made. I did a few small changes, I used half of the chili pepper, and left out the tabsco and cayenne (for the not hot eaters in my group, I needed cayenne on mine:). I thickened it up a bit with corn flour and water mixture (gives it such a authentic taste). Other than that, I would not change a thing! Glad I made a double batch. I always freeze the leftovers. The only other thing that would have made this better was having Da Bears win the Superbowl!

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

I made this last New Years and it was the best prime rib ever. I will be serving this for Christmas dinner this year. I cooked one boneless roast and a bone in roast. Both were cooked to med rare and were good, but the bone in comes out better for some reason. (longer cook time = more tender roast?) Me and my guests thank you!

Cherry Pie III

This pie recipe is great! I made a few changes... I used bing cherries, 4 cups of them, left all the other ingredients the same, except the sugar. I used only 1 cup. I also added 2 tsp lemon juice so it would have a slight tang to it. I also used the pillsbury roll out crust (i was pressed for time.) It came out great. My husband that thought cherry pie was just allright has eaten over half of it in 12 hours! It has a much fresher cherry taste than any store bought or frozen pie. This recipe is a keeper! I will use a few more cherries in my next one. I love "high" pies. by the way. make sure you cook the mixture long enough. It really had a perfect consistency too.

Best Beef Dip Ever

This was a hit! I followed some of the other suggestions for 1/2 beef broth and low sodium soy sauce and it was great. We put it on hard rolls with horseradish sauce, cheese, and sauteed onions, peppers and mushrooms. Just like the graet sandwich placecs!

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

I just made this with my kids for St. Pattys Day and it came out great! I had to make my own buttermilk, (1 tbsp vinegar to 1 c. of milk) I used 1/2 whipping cream in my buttermilk because it was about to go bad, and I made 4 small loaves instead of 1 9 inch. I also added crasins to it and yummmm. I just made a second batch to give out to neighbors as a gift! We will be making this again. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Quick and Easy Taco Dip

I did not have the ingredients to make my traditional taco dip and I found this one. It came out really good. Even the kids liked it. I may alter my normal recipe and use this one as my "bottom layer". I also added extra fresh tomatoes, green onions and olives on the top.

Luscious Chocolate Truffles

These were pretty good. I like the recipes with whipping cream added to them a little better. I love sweetened condensed milk,(it would even make a tire taste good!) so I thought I'd give it a try. It is just a little too much added sweetness to the chocolate. I had my daycare kids make these and give them to thier parents for valentines day, and the parents thought they were great! I divided the chocolate and made 3 different flavors as suggested by others. Great Idea! The best one was the one I added peanut butter to. I just winged it so I cant recall the amount, but those were tasty!

Best Ever Muffins

I think this is a pretty good base, but I did not think they had the "crown" that is the signature for a really good muffin. My baking powder was just purchased the day before, so I know it was fresh. The second time I made it I omitted the salt and that seemed to help some. I will keep playing with it until I get it perfect. A good base to go off of and very easy! Thanks!

Praline Sweet Potatoes

This recipe was a huge hit! I made it for Thanksgiving and it got gobbled up. (no punn intended!) The only change I had to make was I cut WAY down on the vanilla. I felt it was overpowering. I would add only 1 tsp. I did that the second time I made it and it was perfect! Thanks for such a great recipe. It gets eaten by all, even people who dont like sweet potatoes!

Banana Banana Bread

Awesome recipe! I made 4 small loaves. I added 1 tsp vanilla and increased the sugar by 1/4 cup. Like another reveiw, I had to make this after reading PIPPI3'S review:). Ihave been looking for a great banana bread recipe for a long time and I found it. We will be making a double batch tonight to freeze. Thanks!

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie
