About this Cook
Grew up in the midwest, lived in nyc for awhile and now in Italy. I love cooking but especially baking. Living in a different country has given me the chance to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zones, not always being able to get the groceries I want or understand exactly what I'm buying.
My favorite things to cook
Baked chicken because it's fun and my boyfriend is crazy for it. I also love making lasagna but I'm a little timid to cook it for my italian bf.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother is puerto rican and is known for her dishes but she makes amazing apple strudel that no one can match, my mom makes amazing beef stroganoff and dumplings that I seriously need to master. The holidays like Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day and Easter were my favorite because of the food!
My cooking triumphs
Every time I cook for my bf and he flips out time and time again. I love cooking something for my Dad that is secretly much healthier than what he thinks he is eating!
My cooking tragedies
too many to list : / actually I can't really think of anything too horrific. oh the worst was when I made a couscous and chicken casserole that my boss served himself a dish and found a slice of glass in his mouth. Note to all, don't serve lunch in a dirty stock room! Oh and I know what you're thinking, I actually adored my boss and was NOT trying to kill him.

Microwave Baked Potato
Rubber... Maybe it was the type or size of potato I used, or maybe it was the microwave, but it came out overcooked rubber. Which after 30 seconds turned into a stone. I'm sure if I had paid better attention I could have only done the first 5 mins. Sadly, it was my last potato, so guess I'll try again after I buy more.
