Spicy Orange Bison Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
Make sure you read the part about needing to simmer for an hour. I was timing dinner to be ready at a certain time so I actually simmered mine on medium-low for 35 minutes or so. They still turned out great. I served over jasmine rice with the juices since mine did not reduce all the way. I also had an Asian veggie medley on the side. My 4 and 7 year old really like it. I used sweet Asian chili sauce and I used 1 cup of orange juice and 1 1/2 cups of water in place of the 3 cups of water. It was quick and easy to prepare and a tasty way to use my ground bison that I had purchased. Definitely a keeper!

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This is a great wing recipe and I hate to fry anything so it was right up my alley. I shook the wings around in the flour mixture and refrigerated for 30 minutes to an hour. I then baked the wings without the sauce for the 45 minutes. When they came out of the oven I dip them in the hot sauce/butter sauce and place them on a serving dish. They have a lot of flavor and are not soggy. At a popular wing place where waitresses where orange shorts they always dip the fried wings in sauce AFTER cooking. Their wings are delicious and now so are mine!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
We loved this at my house. Even my 2 and 5-year-old kids ate it! I put 2 uncooked chicken breasts in the slow cooker instead of cooked chicken and shredded it an hour before serving. For the liquid portion of the recipe I used all chicken broth except for 1 cup of water. I also rinsed a can of black beans and added them with the other ingredients. My tortilla strips didn't turn out well (maybe I didn't put enough oil on them) so I just used tortilla chips and that was easier and extremely tasty. Finally, we ate the soup with diced avocado, sharp cheddar cheese, and sour cream. I can't wait to eat leftovers!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
Really was delicious. It's important to know that when you first mix the ingriedients that it is not very juicy but once you let it sit for the 2 hours you have perfect cole slaw. Give yourself the time needed to let this recipe sit in the fridge. I didn't change a thing about the recipe and wasn't too sweet to me.

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
Had to use the 4 serving recipe to make it with 1lb of ground beef. It was a change from the usual meat loaf and very tasty. I will definitely make this one again!

Kind of takes the "healthy" out of asparagus with all the butter but it sure does taste good!

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Made this for friends and it was a hit. They even wanted to know how to make them. I cooked covered for 30 minutes and uncovered for another 30 minutes like other reviewers said. I served with salmon and it was very complimentary.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
Delicious for fall! I baked cookies on 375 for 10 minutes and it was perfect. I used one granny smith that ended up being about 1 1/2 cups of apple. I used a zip bag for adding the glaze when the cookies had cooled down a little and it worked out great. I'll be making these again!

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2004
This was a great combination of ingriedients! I do think the sauce was a little thin so it would probably be even better if you add flour or cornstarch to your liquid portion while cooking. I had cream of chicken on hand so I used that instead and just added fresh cooked mushrooms to the sauce. I'm sure it is even better with the cream of mushroom.

I think the ingriedients mixed well for flavor but the consistency was a bit thick.

Bob's Stuffed Banana Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2004
This was pretty tasty. I had plenty of the stuffing mix left so I just started stuffing the other peppers in my fridge. I used red and yellow peppers for the extra and it was good too. You can probably use this for any pepper stuffing.

Baked Salmon II

The taste was great! You have to decide your cooking time based on the thickness of your salmon. It was easy and a great combination of normally basic ingredients. A keeper!

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2004
This was easy and tasted great. My husband said it was just "good" but I thought it was great. It was a nice change from regular tomato sauce. I did add cornstarch to thicken it up a tad bit. Definitely something I will cook again.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2004
This was very easy but it wasn't as good as I had hoped. My pork chops were kind of dried out so maybe they weren't thick enough. I don't think I'll try it again but that is just because there are plenty of recipes that I like better.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
This was so tasty! The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars was that it was kind of odd to eat something so oily, but that's just the way scami is I guess.
