Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
The perfect pancake. Sift your dry ingredients. Bring your refrigerated ingredients to room temperature. Mix sparingly. Add a splash of vanilla if desired. This can't be beat!

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
This recipe is really great. I went with other reviewers' advice and added a can of diced tomatoes. I opted to skip the chicken and used 14 extra large shrimp which I added after cooking time and let steam up, stirring after 2 minutes, another 3 minutes, and another 5 minutes (10 minutes total elapsed time). I substituted turkey kielbasa. I also used brown rice so my cooking time was 40 minutes. I'm confident that this is a 5 star recipe based on the flavor of the dish, despite the changes I made.

Tammy's Tangy Chops

I HATED PORK CHOPS! However, these are exceptional! I doubled garlic and cinnamon as suggested by a previous reviewer, marinated for 2 hours, and baked as directed. I AM A PORK CHOP LOVER NOW!

Thought this was great and followed the suggestions of other reviewers. I used ground buffalo because it's lean and everyone here loved it!

Pastitsio II

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Fantastic - my wife said it was better than the pastitsio in Tarpon Springs, FL and the local place just across the river, both of which are authentically Greek!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
BEST...THANKSGIVING...SIDE...EVER!!! I did as others suggested and mixed 1/2 the cheese and some French's Fried Onions in with fresh green beans. I also put some of the Fried Onions on top. Can't wait for Christmas. Won't ever touch the other green bean casserole again!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
This is so yummy - it's not the same as the pasta fagioli from The Pine in the Bronx, but it'll do in a pinch!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
A complete waste of time. People, don't do it!!! It's a pasty mess and a waste of wonderful ingredients! A boxed rice product will be more satisfying!

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I guess I didn't do it right, but the meat did not shred. I had to carve it with a knife. While it wasn't horrible, it certainly wasn't 4.5 star worthy. I'll use all of the leftover au jus to make onion soup - hopefully it will be worth all the trouble of this dish...

Basil Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
It was easy to make and dressed our salad perfectly. I used less oil than was called for and thought it was still good. Any more and it might have been to heavy. Give it a go!

White Bean Dip with Pine Nuts

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Easy and delicious appetizer dip! Good with pita chips and fresh veggies. A nice alternative to hummus. Maybe next time I'll stir in some chopped artichoke.

Maine Lobster Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I've been searching for a lasagna that used seafood but not tomato sauce and this is it, for sure! Not for the diet conscious, but definitely the best recipe out there. As per another reviewer's suggestion, I used the recipe for quick and easy alfredo sauce from this site and this lasagna turned out spectacular! Would give it higher stars if I could!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Better than what comes in the jar, but not really Alfredo Sauce. It's excellent as a white cheese sauce though.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
Simple to make and decadent. Brought it to the inlaws for Christmas Eve and my mother-in-law wouldn't less us take any home :( The only reason there was some left was because we were only 5 adults and this easily serves 16. Serve with fresh raspberries on top and a dollop of whipped cream. To die for!

Cream of Broccoli Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
Phenomenal recipe. Followed as best I could except I didn't reserve the water so I substituted with chicken broth. It was plenty thick, you just have to cook it down until it's creamy prior to adding milk. Then you have to cook it until it's thick again prior to adding the broccoli.

Gerry's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2005
This recipe tasted good, but wasn't worth the time it took to create it. I realize that the person who submitted it acknowledged that it wasn't easy, but it took an entire afternoon to get these ready. If you live near a decent Mexican restaurant, you could be there and back before these are ready...I'm sure there's a better enchilada recipe out there for me.
