Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
These are great cookies. I added a teaspoon a almond extract for a bit of flavour, but they are just fine just as they are.

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Great banana bread, especially liked the swirl in the middle. I did make a few changes: Added some nutmeg to the batter, and doubled the cinnamon swirl mixture. Used 2 large bananas because that what I had. Yummy!!!

A great recipe that can be used with any fruit. I did a little nutmeg and cinnamon to the batter and streusel topping.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Great banana bread, very versatile. It tastes great plain or you can spice it up a bit with some cinnamon & nutmeg. It's also great with nuts, dried cranberries and chocolate chips.

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
What a great white cake, so light and moist with a nice flavour. It freezes well if you want to make it ahead of time but don't want it eaten. Takes to other flavour like orange with a chocolate icing if you don't like almond. Makes good chocolate chip cupcakes too if you add 1 cup of chips.

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I love these muffins and have made them a few times now, and they are great as is. But I have also made them once with about 1 tsp of lemon zest and another time with 1/2 tsp of lavender. They are great however you make them.

These are a nice textured cookies, but need way more spice. I used 2 tsp of cardamom and 1 of cinnamon. Also tried a batch with dried cranberries added and they were very good.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
Good flavour, but came out flatter than I like. Would make good cookies for ice cream sandwiches. Definitely not the best.

Lemon Custard Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
I found this to be way to sweet and not to have a lemony taste at all. Also I found that the layers didn't separate, the top seemed to mushy and the bottom too gelatinous.

Can't keep the cookie jar full!! I added another 1/3 of cup of cocoa and a little less flour, also split the sugar as 1 cup of brown and 1/2 cup of white.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
These are a great staple for the cookie jar. The changes I made were to add 3/4 cup of cocoa instead of just 2/3 and I added some white chocolate chips and rolled them in granulated sugar before baking. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Definitely a keeper.

This is a great cake. Followed the ingredients exactly but I separated the eggs and beat the whites separately with a bit of cream of tartar and then folded them in at the end. Makes is very light.

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
These are fantastic. If you want the caramel centre to be as thick as in the picture I had to double the filling. If you line the parchment paper there's no need to grease and flour and the whole block of squares comes out in one piece for easy cutting.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Great gingerbread. Definitely improves with age, so make it a few days ahead. You may have to hide it though. Increased the spices by about 1/2 and used hot milk instead of water.

Great dessert. Very easy to make. It does make a lot though. Followed the recipe but made the following additions: drizzled the brownies with some Grand Marnier and added some orange sections on top of each brownie layer.
