Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Good, but I substituted brown sugar because I like the flavor better. I found that if I substituted all the white sugar for brown, the cooking time was less than if I substituted 1/3 of the sugar for brown. A good solid recipe for banana bread.

Blue Cranberry Sauce

Pretty good stuff, but very tart...be prepared for something very tart unless you all quite a bit more sugar.

Worked pretty good, but cooking time was a little long for mine. The taste was great!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
Something tasted off and I didn't like the consistency. They were also too hard for my two year old to eat, she just had to kind of suck on them until they fell apart. Will not make again.

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2006
Good, but not spectacular...I'll make it again, but next time I may grill the squash for some carmelization to add flavor.

Eggplant Parmesan I

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
Followed the recipe exactly and loved it. The only thing I may change is letting the salted eggplant drip longer.

Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2005
This pie crust is the most difficult that I have ever worked with. The dough needs to be chilled, and lots more water is needed. In my opinion, the crust is too thin for two pie crust...try just one. I will never try this recipe again!

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2005
Awesome pie! My FIL says it is like the one his mom used to make! I took two pieces to my FIL, visited for a few hours, and when I came back, my husband had the rest of the pie eaten and left me just a taste. I'll make two next time!

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Couldn't find water chestnuts in my grocery store, but the dip was still awesome....particularly good with sourdough bread pieces.

Nice change from the way too sugary marshmellow stuff!!!! This focuses much more on the sweet potato flavor and is not super sugary!

Crab Dip

Excellent! When served with corn chips, it tastes a lot like crab rangoons from chinese restaurants.

Taste was pretty good, but I had lots of trouble keeping them together when frying and flipping them. They needed salt also.

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
Unless you have a really big mixing bowl, I would divide this recipe in half and make two separate batches. They taste awesome, but it was hard to deal with in that big a quantity.

Beer Cheese Pretzel and Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2004
I only make the dip part of the recipe and I buy soft pretzel chips from a local bakery. The dip is awesome and I have tried it with many different beers since my husband is a beer enthusiast. My favorite to use is Chili Beer-a light beer bottled with a chili pepper in it. It gives a little spice to the dip. I have also tried throwing a habanero or two in the blender-this makes it extra spicy.
