Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2015
Really delicious. Add a second can of tomato soup for the sauce. BTW: Leftover hamburger filling makes excellent burgers on the grill!

Very good. Don't know what the fuss is about 'salty'. Mine turned out fine. Everyone loved them, even the kids.

Once again Chef John, excellent recipe. Did exactly as instructed and no changes and it was really, really good. Time was a little off. Mine needed about 3.5 hours but it was awesome. Thanks!

Chef John's Twice-Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
EXCELLENT! Followed exactly. Perfect! I never change Chef John's recipes because they are always great. To 'make it my own' (as he instructed) I only added 4 oz. of Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread to the hot mashed potato pulp before spooning into the shells. Nothing else, just the recipe Chef John shows. This is a REALLY great take on 2x baked spuds. Highly recommend it and I'm a chef.

Follow it exactly and the result is very good. Kids loved them, wife loved them, I loved them...what else can you say? No changes and they were just as Chef John described.

Chef John's Salt Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2014
Perfect chicken! As easy as it can get and end result is just as promised, perfect. Not too crazy about the sauce because the chicken is that good and the sauce really isn't. Sorry. Doesn't need a sauce.

Best Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2014
Good recipe and makes a lot. 4 Stars because final product benefits from a fair amount of Parmesan Cheese (shredded not powdered) and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes. Will make again.

Sweet Hot Mustard Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2014
Yet again a PERFECT recipe Chef John! Marinated the thighs overnight and they turned out not only EXACTLY as you showed in the video but everyone ate them up as fast as they could. Put this on our menu and expect a wonderful following. One thing: You didn't mention how great they smell while they are cooking. It is so good it makes your mouth water. EXCELLENT!

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
Really good recipe. Do NOT omit the salt. The key is to use a variety of cheeses. I used sharp white cheddar and smoked Gouda. This dish tastes even better after it has gotten cold and then reheated. I also stuffed a few hamburgers with it and grilled. Excellent surprise when you bite into the burger. Perfect comfort food!

Chef John's Chicken Kiev

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2014
Absolutely 5 stars (and then some) on this one! A lot of prep work but OMG the end result is so incredibly decadent it's beyond words. I served this to a private group of friends and everyone, I mean EVERYONE, just about fainted from either the butter or the incredible taste! Paired with a mixed salad and mashed potatoes...If you don't try it, you will never know. 5 Thumbs up Chef John! You hit this one out of the ballpark!

Pancetta-Wrapped Leek Gratin

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
Chef John, as a complete freak of leeks this is a WONDERFUL recipe! The way it's made and the way it turns out is spectacular. It is the kind of dish you sit back after each bite and savor the richness (not heavy) and the complex tastes. The Pancetta is so incredibly awesome. Wow! A few of these and a glass of wine and some smooth jazz and you have yourself a high-end restaurant night at home. Bravo Chef!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Very good with 2 changes: Cut the salt to 1 Tablespoon and, yes this sounds weird but it works perfectly, place 2 UNPEELED bananas on top of the roast when you start the slow cooker. By the time the roast is done the bananas will have melted away and you simply remove the leftover banana skins for the trash. Yes it sounds weird and NO it does not impart a nasty banana taste. It works. Been serving it to rave reviews for over 20 years.

Once again Chef John you have created a masterpiece! This risotto is as good as it gets. I put this on our menu to go with our fresh fish and even our beef filets and it was BEYOND the rave. All the diners LOVED the risotto. Way to go! Haven't tried it? You should.

Deviled eggs can be anything but this recipe is awesome because of the unique 'add ons'. Love it! Soon as I make them, they get eaten and not one single complaint.
