Party Kielbasa

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
I've made this for about 3 decades using 2 links of kielbsa (turkey kielbsa too) and 1 jar red current jelly & 1 bottle of chili sauce. But it is a base recipe to add or change to your liking. Try abit leaner style using boneless chicken chunks, apricot jam & chili sauce w/a tsp. or so of your favorite mustard (my favorite is Chipoltle Mustard! Around the holidays red current jelly with cranberry mustard from the stonewall kitchen - quite yummy & just the sauce over your leftover turkey over rice is really quite nice & good way to change up your plain old turkey leftovers - TRY IT, YOU JUST MAY LIKE IT! Really though you can play around with all types of sauces, mustards and even use fresh or frozen fruit blended up with just a couple Tbls. of brown sugar instead of the high fructose & sugar laden jellies and jams! I have frozen serrano & jalopeno peppers from my garden and thinking I might drop either a whole one in or deseed & finely chop some for extra zip & the plus side of that is hot peppers speed up your metabolism! So go ahead ya'll. and just PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD!

Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
I used what I had & made it Mexican Stye! I used 2 9" x 7" (aprox) zuccini's, 2 fresh CHORIZO sausages (.60 .b) decased & cooked, when almost cooked I added a medium fresh red pepper & 1/4 medium sweet onion BOTH DICED, cooked together while finely dicing both 1 Lg. garlic bulb, and 1 small fresh serrano pepper from my garden. Once mixture was cooked I added the rest of the middle of the zuccinis I hollowed out w/a melon baller to the pa with about 1/4 crushed tortilla chips & about 6 crushed wheat crackers (to use them up). HINT: I microwaved the zuccini's covered in a glass pan w/o water to soften, then brushed EVOO on them & grilled both sides for marks. Stuffed them with the mixture of both meat mix & zuccini w/tortilla & cracker crumbs - topped with shredded cheddar/montery jack cheese - wrapped LOOSELY in foil so the cheese wouldn't stick to heat through & melt cheese. While they cooked I grilled a couple garden plum tomatoes. They were ready pretty much right before the zuccini & I also topped the tomatoes with fresh oregano, & basil. Oh yeah....I also put fresh oregano & fresh thyme on the inside of the zuccini afte they were grilled & before stuffing them.........EXCELLENT & DOESN'T HEAT UP YOUR HOUSE USING THE OVEN!!! Corn would be great &/or beans as a filling w/the meat too!

Ultra Easy Cream Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2013
pretty blah after making this recipe & I'll. never buy premade French Onion Dip again. Plus this recipe gets changed up with other fresh herbs only & a touch of ranch dry mix with veggies when our garden is producing fresh veggies & herbs
