The kitchen was always a place of gathering for my family growing up. My Mom is a fantastic cook - best lasagne and pot roast you could find anywhere! I have learned much from her - not only about the preperation of food, but also about hospitality - welcoming others into your home. I now have my own family and love preparing a meal for my husband, kids and good friends and family that God has blessed us with. I want my kitchen to always be open to others...even when my dish doesn't quite work out! :-)
My favorite things to cook
With my kids: cookies, muffins, squares On my own: Mom's lasagne, soup from scratch, cheese bits (hoping to submit the recipee), pasta
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas morning includes a great brunch which includes everything from fruit salad, 'wife savers' to waffles and bacon. We always try to remember to not eat too much to spoil the big approaching dinner...
My cooking triumphs
My first roast. Not fantastic, but hey it was edible. Now I own a meat thermometer!
My cooking tragedies
A girlfriend and I were excited about preparing a gourmet meal for our boyfriends. Everything went fairly well, until the dessert, a decadent, rich chocolate cheesecake. We forgot to add the sugar. They still married us!
