I have always loved cooking for people... my Nana started to let me help her cook when I was only 5 yrs old. My Dad was always a great cook and loved recipe books... I have my own very vast collection of cookbooks and love to sit in the middle of the living room floor and create menus from all the books! I have made everything from the basics to my own pasta and Chinese food. I love to bake, but not a big sweets fan - thank Goodness, my husband has a sweet-tooth! My favorite is traditional comfort foods, but enjoy making Italian a lot! I have started getting my daughters in the kitchen. We make cookies for Holidays such as Christmas and Easter. I hope they learn to enjoy it as much as I do! When I made a complete Chinese meal from scratch! Everything from the won-ton soup, egg rolls, fried rice, pineapple chicken... it was A LOT of work, but it was a memorable meal!!! A lasagna when I was 12 years old. My mom was not going to be home in time for dinner. I made lasagna for the 1st time for me & my brother. I used tomato PASTE instead of sauce... OMG it was awful!!! My poor brother was just under 10 years old and even asked for seconds to be polite! LOL It was horrible and we still talk about it today!
