Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
I found this to have some zip, but not spicy. I used a jalapeno instead of the canned chiles and canned black beans in place of the refried beans. Also used 2 cups of salsa instead of taco sauce. If you want super spicy I would recommend using at least 2 jalapenos or even a habanero. Otherwise, flavors rocked!!!

Beer Sausage

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
My fiance and I LOVED this! Used a bottle of Yuengling for the beer, left out the salt since the kielbasa already has enough. I used about half a head of cabbage. Everything turned out perfectly. Give this recipe a try, wonderful comfort food!

Kingman's Vegan Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2012
Hands-down, best zucchini bread ever! Hubby and his co-worker called it "crack" bread because it is so addictive. I would not change anything at all, love it!

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
I took the advice of 1 reviewer and boiled my potatoes covered...be warned, you will need to add more water! I had halved this recipe, which took the water down to 3/4 cup. I had to add water twice. I did add about a teaspoon of flour to the clam juice which I think helped with the texture. Hubby said the clams lacked flavor, so I'm thinking next time I should add the clams about 2 minutes before the potatoes are done to impart extra flavor. Otherwise, loved it! Only my second time eating clam chowder ever and this was far better than my first experience.

Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
I let this simmer way too long, and it turned out more like a stew or chili than a soup. The flavors were rockin' though!

Avocado Side Dish

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
This was kind of odd to me. I love avocado and tomato but I wouldn't combine it like this again. I didn't use all of the chili and to be quite honest, my first impression was that the mixture smelled like dog food. But, it tasted better than I expected.

Stuffed-Crust Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
Good for it not being a Pizza Hut stuffed crust. I added sliced mushrooms and sliced olives in place of the pepperoni. Came out well.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
I've made this twice now, first time was word for word and we enjoyed it. The second time I added ground sage and took the water down to 1 cup. In place of the second cup I did a can of cream of mushroom and wow--almost like my mom's. It's a keeper!!

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2013
OMG this was incredible! The only thing I did different was to use Kikkoman Wasabi Sauce in place of the wasabi powder (could not find the powder in the store). I ate 3 platefuls! My husband was lucky I didn't eat more, I really could have eaten the entire bowl without his help. Definite keeper!

Everyone except our 8 year old enjoyed this--then again she isn't the biggest fan of tuna fish. My husband thought this was incredible!

Salvadoran Salsa (Chimol)

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
Personally I felt this could use more than just 2 radishes (I shredded mine in to a fine grate, so that may have been why I felt that way). Otherwise, nice fresh flavor! It's almost completely gone after just one sitting!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
Yum, yum and more yum! I most definitely have to go get all the spices listed next time as I only had pumpkin pie spice at home. I did 2 of the 7x3 pans and some smaller loaf pans (Pampered Chef stoneware) and everything came out beautifully!

Apricot Chicken II

Delicious, the whole family enjoyed. I personally will use a bit more brown sugar next time, maybe 2 tbsp instead of just one. Thanks for the recipe!

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake

I took the advice from review #31..it turned out pretty well. I do have to say that neither flavor was very potent---I think I may try one or the other flavor next time. Good texture though!

Unbelievable Chicken

I did not have the lime juice or the course ground mustard--I did use ground mustard in it's place. I thought it turned out pretty darn good. Worth a try, the charred crust on mine was tantalizing!!!
