Grilled Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This was a very good starter of a recipe to be used on any kind of chicken.. I marinated some split breasts and legs for about an hour in the sauce(minus the soy..)I added Weber cajun seasoning and a couple pats of butter to it. I then baked in the oven till about 3/4 of the way done..foiled lined pan sprayed with cooking spray.. handed over to hubby to put on the grill and while he was doing that I made an additional batch of sauce for him to baste while cooking..this was one of the BEST version of chicken we have had in a while.. all my guests loved it!

Watermelon Martini

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This was better than I thought it would be.. I pureed some watermelon in the frap maker and then added just a bit of sugar(we like things sweet)..then used watermelon flavored vodka and watermelon pucker which next time I don't think I will use the pucker. Overall my guests really liked and it was a very pretty cocktail to serve..just make sure to serve cold or it is not near as good.

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
SO good. I was a bit worried it would be too sweet but it wasn't.. my 15 year old made this for us and lightly toasted the coconut for the top. She didn't use all the cool whip it called for...about half was enough. This cake will not disappoint the coconut fan!!

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Hubby and I just recently started eating French Onion soup so I thought I should try to make some... made today for lunch(perfect day for it..snowing outside).. it turned out quite good. I caramelized the onions and probably added a bit more cheese than called for.. also added some worsteschire(sp?)couple dashes and added some minched garlic when cooking the onions.. I used garlic parmesean croutons..only thing I would change next time would be to cut down the butter.. you could almost taste it. Overall this is a keeper!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
It was good. Used a large pork roast(prob about 5 pounds or so..we are a large family)poured a bottle and half of rootbeer over it. Was a little worried about how it would taste from the way it smelled when I drained it but it tasted better than I expected ..shredded pretty good added a big bottle of KC Masterpiece and served on ciabatta rolls with provolone melted on. Also made the Sweet Restaurant Slaw from the site to go with as a side! Great meal and not a lot of work!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
Absolutely the best cream pie every! My 10 year old daughter wanted to make this and we were all amazed at how GOOD this was. Couple changes we made based on other reviews were...using a whole can of coconut cream then adding enough half and half to make 3 cups, 3 egg yolks, cornstarch instead of flour, and only toasted the coconut for the top, added about half a bag of coconut *can never have too much right??* ;) Not a bite left at the end of the night!!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
This was so so good. I love sweet potatos no matter how they are done but this was the best I have ever had. I did mess up and ad the brown sugar to the mixture forgetting it was for the topping because I was so busy multi tasking but it didn't hurt it...I also used canned sweet potatos to cute down on time. Even some of my kids who don't like sweet potatos thought it was good! I know some people like cinnamon and all but this doesn't need it. It is perfect as is.

White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
Really good for a fall night. Like others I kind of made it my own...cooked 4 really big chicken breasts in broth in the crockpot... shredded then added 1 jar of tomatillo salsa(Targets is the best). 3 cans white beans, one can corn. One bag southwest blend rice(has corn, peppers and onions in it). Added some chipotle seasoning and kicken chicken..let simmer for a few hour. Sour cream and cheese to top it off! Easy and so so good!!

Harvest Pumpkin Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
More of a cake than brownie but really good. My 15 year old(the baker of the family)made these and they are great!! She didn't put icing on all of it I personally think it is better without icing and goes great w/ coffee(my pumpkin latte I am having right now). Very moist and light. She did add a bit more spice than what it called for and doubled the cream cheese in the icing recipe.
