About this Cook
Hi, My name is Kristy. I live in NC and have grown up around southern cooking. I like to try different styles but usually end up back where I started. I love to make desserts. And all of my friends and family love it too. I'm not sure what you may want to know about me but feel free to ask.
My favorite things to cook
Hmmm....I like making puppy chow, chocolate covered peanut butter balls, oreo balls, lasagne roll ups, and I love grilled chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my mom thinks that I haven't been visiting enough she fixes country style steak and gravy and mashed potatoes. My favorite meal in the world. When we have family get-togethers I'm required to bring a dessert usually Hawaiian Pudding since I was six.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made oreo balls and everyone raved about them (and still do) I never thought that they would turn out as well as they did.
My cooking tragedies
Where to begin here? Once I was making dinner for some friends and instead of putting paprika in a recipe I put cayane pepper- I'm not to big on spicey stuff and neither are my friends.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf
Wow, this was fantastic and very easy to make! I was getting tired of making the same old meatloaf. This was a great change. Can't wait to make it again.

Roasted Garlic Peppercorn Sauce
Mine also turned out a bit thick but it got rave reviews from the whole house. I added more garlic to ours (we love garlic). Served over angel hair pasta with chicken and a side of garlic toast. It was fantastic.

Cookie Mix in a Jar VII
I tried this recipe last night. I did add 1/4c of butter to help the mix stay together- because it did seem a little crumbly. The cookies turned out amazing. I only made a dozen and rolled the rest into loaves so I could make them quick for a get together later this week. I will definetly be making these as gifts for friends and family this year. Thanks for another wonderful recipe! I also like Cookie Mix in a Jar VI & VIII.
