Roasted Peppers in Oil (Peperoni Arrostiti Sotto Olio)

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
YUM! I had an abundance of peppers and more than enough stuffed peppers in the freezer so I tried this recipe. It was a first for me and so easy to do. I loved the way they swelled and peeled. I can't wait to have them on pizza. Thank you KIMSCOOKINGNOW for sharing your recipe!

Lite Italian Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
This recipe saved the day! A Saturday at the shore in the summer is not the time to hit the supermarket. I was caught without any Italian dressing for the pasta salad I was making. When I saw this was Lillian's recipe I knew the day was saved! Thanks Lillian for such a terrific recipe, it's SUPER!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Very Good! The glaze was my favorite part. I followed the recipe exactly but only made 4 loaves as I felt 8 would be too small. The next time I will add onions and leave out the cheese. Thank you Tonya Swope for sharing your recipe!

Home-Fried Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
These are SOOO GOOD! I had the pleasure of making them when they were a "personal recipe". They are a favorite at our house. My review was as follows: YUMMY! Such a nice coating and they froze so well. I took them out of the hot oil as soon as they browned so as not to burn. I followed that up with a few seconds in the microwave to be sure they were done inside. I served them with "Clone of a pretzel dip" and they were so YUMMY! They made a great addition to our "dippers". Thank you mis7up for sharing your YUMMY recipe! I added it to my cookbook and it has definitely found a home at our house.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
REFRESHING! The perfect drink for a hot day! I sliced two lemons and added them to the finished recipe. It cut the sweetness a little and was perfect for us. It was so refreshing! Thank you Jo for sharing your recipe.

Lemon Ice II

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
Creamy not icey! I really wanted to like this recipe but found it "sour" as opposed to "tart". I don't know why it surprised me but it is lemon and milk. My ingredients were fresh. To make this to our liking, Hubby added Hershey's strawberry syrup to his, and I made an orange float out of mine. Very good this way so all was not lost! Thank you for sharing your recipe, jem, I wish we had liked it with no changes.

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: May 11, 2012
DELISH! I had left-over beef from last night's roast, so I chopped that in place of ground beef. I also added Italian seasonings to taste. I liked the addition of the sugar to cut the acid of the tomatoes. This recipe will be kept to use again and again. Thank you dkennedy for sharing your recipe!

Chocolate Wafer Ice Cream Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
WOW! WOW! WOW! I used Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies and rolled them in mint chocolate chips. I froze the cookies first so the chocolate wouldn't get all over my hands. These were small which was good because the ice cream didn't have time to melt when you ate them; and, if you were counting calories, there were less. I made both chocolate and vanilla ice cream sandwiches and they were equally as good. Thank you cookin'mama for sharing your recipe!

Flan II

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
SMOOTH & CREAMY! This was my first time making flan and it was so easy. Perfect instructions! I used 2% milk by mistake but couldn't have had better results. I will use it next time too! Thank you Bobby Kleinveld for sharing your recipe!

Real Sopapillas

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
YUM! I have never eaten a sopapilla before nor have I ever seen one. Making these was an adventure into new territory. All I can say is, when I dropped the little dough squares into the oil, I was amazed at the little pillows of puffiness. I knew I did something right. How amazing these would be cut into little hearts and covered with tinted sugar. I coated these with a mix of sugar and cinnamon and they were yummy. Thank you Leaz for sharing your recipe and allowing me to have another first adventure!

Lemon Berry Slushy

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
EXCELLENT! I did use an extra tray of ice cubes as I wanted it more slushier. We really enjoyed this treat and I will make it again whenever I have strawberries around the house. Thank you MGREE688 for sharing your recipe!

VERY GOOD! I didn't make any changes to the recipe. I filled them with cherry pie filling and topped them with whipped cream. They made for a fantastic dessert. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Perfect Strawberry Milkshake

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
YUM! I doubled the strawberries but next time I will cut the milk in half for a thicker shake. Made with yogurt and 1% milk makes for a no-guilt treat. Thank you Froggy+Popovers= for sharing your recipe.

Garlic Chicken Sausage and Summer Vegetable Saute

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
VERY GOOD! I tried to make this according to the recipe but I didn't have zucchini or polenta. I substituted them with asparagus and rice. It wasn't until I went to add the balsamic that I saw it was out-of-date; so, I used two tablespoons of Yoshida's gourmet cooking sauce. I couldn't have asked for a better taste. We thoroughly enjoyed this meal and I will make it again, probably the same way. Thank you alfresco for sharing your recipe.

Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
DELISH! I made this according to the recipe. The only thing I will do different next time is to add croutons. I didn't think I would like warm sausage on my lettuce so I let it cool off a little before mixing. I also sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Oops, I did have a change. Thank you al fresco All Natural for sharing your recipe!

Linguini with Roasted Vegetables and Tomato Basil Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF GOOD! We really enjoyed this recipe and look forward to having it often. My only substitution was using minced garlic for fresh as I didn't realize I was out of fresh garlic. Hubby kept telling me throughout dinner how much he was enjoying it. A definite keeper. The meatballs are fabulous!

Instant Chocolate Covered Bunnies (On a Stick)

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
YUM! What I really like about this recipe is how fresh the marshmallows will stay being coated with chocolate. Coating the bunnies with different flavors of chips will make for a nice variety. This recipe is so simple yet it's goodness really took me by surprise. So cute too! It will be an added treat when I hold the Easter egg hunt this year. Thank you Ciera for sharing!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
FANTASTIC! I used Angus beef chuck cubes and basically followed the recipe adding worcestershire sauce in step 1. I used extra vegetables which caused me to add more bouillon and water. I kept adding until the veggies were covered with broth. After the veggies were tender, I added the cornstarch gradually until it was the consistency I desired. This stew was "knock your socks off good"! It is going in my recipe book and will see a lot of use. Thank you Paula for sharing such a FANTASTIC recipe!
