Beer Batter Crepes I

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
EXCELLENT! I followed the recipe but did not wait the hour as instructed. Hubby was hungry. I filled the crepes with cherry pie filling and I'm looking forward to using other fruits as well. I had never made crepes before so this is a new addition to our breakfast selections. Thanks Magique for sharing such an EXCELLENT recipe!

Cheesy Potatoes I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
VERY GOOD! I cut the recipe in half as there are only 2 of us. Other than that, I followed it exactly. To cut down on prep time, I peeled and sliced the potatoes and kept them in a bowl of water until it was time to prepare dinner. This was a very enjoyable side dish to a ham dinner and I will be making it again. Thank you Holly Bobst for sharing your recipe!

Watermelon Ice

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
VERY NICE FLAVOR! I followed the first two steps; then did a taste test, and added the mixture to my ice cream machine. It was as simple as that! As I like sweet, I used 1 tsp. of sugar to enhance the sweetness of the watermelon. We like watermelon ice treats and we liked this. Thank you missBAKER for sharing your recipe!

Out of this World Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2011
Tonight I made this recipe as a side dish to go with Polska Kielbasa and I was not disappointed. I used a cookie cutter to make the shapes but it really would taste just as good chopped and save time as well. If you're a person who eats with their eyes, go for the shapes. I could not get whole wheat wagon wheel pasta, so I just used the whole wheat spiral pasta and it is something I will use again. The only change I would make is to sprinkle with parmesan cheese prior to serving. This was yummy! Thank you Hidden Vallley Ranch for your recipe I couldn't tell the dressing was "light".

Tom and Jerry

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
This was a nice after dinner treat. I cut the recipe to two servings and used an electric mixer to make the egg whites frothy. It wasn't as creamy as I would have liked (personal preference), so next time I will use cream in place of milk. Perhaps, Bailey's, as others suggested, would also make it creamier. Thank you Verushka for sharing your recipe!

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
VERY GOOD! I cut the recipe in half as there are only two of us. The flavor was not as sweet as other recipes, which really surprised me. Hubby preferred it to be a little sweeter, so next time I'll add a little dark corn syrup. I simmered it while I finished cooking dinner and it thickened nicely. There were no left overs! Thank you Kathy Bennett for sharing your recipe!

Praline Pull-Apart Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This recipe was a challenge for me. I followed the recipe exactly, but when it came time to knead the dough, it was the consistency of cake batter and I used all 5 cups of flour. I added extra flour to make it a soft dough as the recipe says. The end result was a heavy coffee roll. It came out looking nice; but, I'm sorry to say, the texture ruined it. I feel there is a mistake somewhere.

Pork Medallions with Balsamic Vinegar and Capers

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
TENDER & FLAVORFUL! This is another excellent recipe, Marianne; it was "melt in your mouth good"! We loved the capers and balsamic sauce. My only change was to use 1/4 tsp. garlic powder and 3/4 tsp. salt as I didn't have garlic salt. The recipe was easy to follow and I found all the times were perfect. Thank you Marianne for sharing this TENDER & FLAVORFUL recipe! I will be making it again.

Bacon Olive Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2011
TASTY! Not knowing what to use for "cheese sauce", I mixed chopped olives with cream cheese. Any left over, I knew I could use with crackers. I was unable to roll the strip of bread so I just folded it in half and placed the open side down on the bacon and wrapped. While cooking, a lot of the cheese oozed out. I really didn't think this recipe was going to be successful but was pleasantly surprised at just how tasty they were! Next time I think Ill try velveeta cheese. Thank you RONNIEB for sharing your recipe!

Blueberry Nut Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
GREAT breakfast muffin! Not too sweet, just as the description claims. It tasted more like a biscuit than a muffin. I took the advice of the submitter and sprinkled sugar on top before baking. I didn't feel there were enough blueberries in the batter so I added an extra handful. The walnuts really add a nice flavor and texture to it. I am giving this 4 stars because I feel it needed the extra blueberries. Thank you Mrs N for sharing your recipe.

Fruit Sherbet

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
REFRESHING! A cool refreshing treat for a hot summer day. My only changes were to use 2% milk and freeze in my ice cream maker. The flavor has a nice balance between sweet and tart, and the texture was smooth and slightly creamy. This is a recipe I would be proud to serve to company! Thank you Mary Ann Benzon for sharing such a REFRESHING treat!!

Barbeque Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
GREAT! I made this according to the recipe with no changes. I had planned on grilling chicken thighs tonight when a thunder storm hit. I quickly did an ingredient search and this recipe saved the day. It was so easy to make and did not tie me down to the kitchen. I threw in a bulb of garlic and made roasted garlic mashed potatoes as a side dish. The smell of the barbeque chicken along with the garlic had our mouths watering. Nothing beats chicken thighs on the grill but this recipe sure saved the day and was GREAT! Thanks you RENA R. for sharing such a GREAT recipe!!

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
YUMMY! I was using the oven for a chicken dinner tonight, so I thought it would be a good time to try this recipe and roast the garlic. I cut off the tip of the garlic bulb before sprinkling it with olive oil. My chicken got baked at 300 degrees and the garlic roasted nicely leaving it in an extra 15 minutes. The smell of it roasting was mouth watering and the finished dish did not disappoint. There were no leftovers! In the future I plan to make it with red skin potatoes and leave the skins on. Thank you Kathleen Burton for sharing such a YUMMY recipe!!

Pork Chop Grill

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
EXCELLENT, JUICY! So moist and JUICY! This was so simple to prepare. I took out frozen pork chops and placed them in the marinade to defrost. I used dried herbs because I didn't realize that I never planted thyme. While they were marinating I ran to the nursery like a good "AR Addict" and bought and planted thyme. Of course, I added the 2 sprigs first. This was so juicy and flavorful that Hubby claimed it doesn't need to be served with applesauce, it can stand on it's own moistness. 10 minutes on each side was perfect for my grill. I kept the temperature of the grill around 350-375. Thank you Marianne for sharing your recipe. I will be marinating all my pork chops this way for added juiciness.
