Million-Dollar Spaghetti

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
I made SO many modifications... I added 3 tbs. of dried italian seasonings to the sour cream mixture to give it flavor and I used a larger jar of spaghetti sauce. Also, I didn't use cheddar cheese, I used shredded parmesan cheese (cheddar cheese on spaghetti didn't make sense to me from the beginning!) and it was great. I had this dish at a friend's house and they gave me the recipe so I knew what modifications I would make when I cooked it for my family. With these modifications, I would give it a 5 stars - also, spray a large piece of foil and put on top of the dish while it's baking to keep it from drying out, remove before adding the parmesan cheese and then pop it back into the oven to bake the cheese, about 10-12 minutes. And as always, it's better the next day. USE SMALL CURD COTTAGE CHEESE!!! :)

Green Onion Dip II

Reviewed: May 17, 2013
I completely changed this because I didn't have cream cheese and it came out great! I had 1 bunch of green onions that I chopped up in my food processor and I added 2 cups of sour cream and 2 packages of real bacon bits. Excellent dip so thanks for the idea with the base recipe! I'll try it your way next time... :)

Party Plentiful Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
I made this recipe but I didn't have any cottage cheese on hand but it still came out great! I tripled the salsa and added fresh lime instead of lemon and it was still a huge hit at our gathering... I must say that the appearance was a little disturbing... :/

Amusement Park Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
This was SO good. Usually I buy Marie Callendar's cornbread because I love sweet cornbread but this recipe is similar - nice and sweet! :) On the second day, I cut a slice and heated it in the oven with butter and it was SO delicious!! Yum

Classic Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
Great recipe! For those "non-Brits", the history behind Shepherd's Pie is that it is a left-over meal prepared from Sunday's Roast Dinner. Combining chunks of the left-over roast, the veggies, and then using the left-over mashed potatoes on top. English food, on the whole, tends to be bland so the spices in this recipe are great! I serve it with beef gravy and yorkshire puddings...

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
This turned out great! I didn't have just cheddar so I used what I had - Jack/Cheddar. Turned out fab! Printed it and it's now in my oven menu box! :) Thanks!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
This turned out delicious! I used a 4-pack from Costco so I'm not sure how many pounds it was but it almost filled my 5-quart crock pot. I also added 1 cup of Apricot Preserves to the broth before I poured it over the pork. We have been eating this all week and have yet to run out of ideas for new ways to serve it!! Def went into my recipe box!

Zesty Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
Very good recipe! I was making pulled-pork sandwiches and it's almost a sin to eat them without coleslaw! I didn't have any DILL WEED so I substituted CELERY SEED - turned out great!! Thanks
