And HAVE I GOT A CHEESEBURGER FOR YOU!
This is a turkey burger full of flavor with a creamy filling inside. Who says that a cheeseburger has to be made of beef and topped with cheddar or american cheese? My cheese of choice in this one-pepperjack, of course. The combination of creamy and crunchy,
salty and spicy makes this a great burger to grill outside or in the kitchen in a cast iron skillet.
These are easy to make, with bacon and avocado, along with pepperjack cheese on top-what's not to love?
Here's how easy they are to make-
Preheat your grill to medium high heat.
2 lbs. lean ground turkey
1 cup salsa, divided (use 1/2 cup for patties and 1/2 for filling)
2 T. dry taco mix
1 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper
Filling for Patties:
6 ounces cream cheese, chilled and cubed
the remaining 1/2 cup salsa
1/3 c. mayo
1 T. hot sauce (I use tabasco)
6 hamburger buns
2 avocados, sliced
sliced pepper jack cheese
applewood smoked bacon or any thick bacon
Mix turkey meat mixture and shape into 12 thin patties (you are going to fill and press 2 together).
Meanwhile, cook the bacon on medium and drain.
Mix the filling ingredients with a fork and top each patty with a spoonful; top with another patty and press edges to seal.
Grill on medium hot grill that has been oiled or sprayed with nonstick spray, turning once, until done.
Mix the sauce mixture and top each with cheese until melted, then other condiments.
These are so good. Seriously, these are really good!
