Have a sweet tooth and want to feed it?  Well, this easy dessert is made with, are you ready for this, canned peaches.  You can always substitute fresh in this recipe-it will only make it better, but what a fast and fruity dessert this is.

I'm always up for the challenge to make something out of nothing, and I had a french vanilla cake mix I had bought while they were on sale a while back.  Not one to use cake mixes normally, it was just sitting there, all alone.  Then I came up with an idea.  Here's the recipe:

1 Pkg dry cake mix-white, yellow or french vanilla
1/3 c. butter, room temp
2 large eggs, divided
29 oz can light peach slices, drained
8 oz cream cheese, room temp
1/3 c sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

 Preheat oven to 350.
Spray a 9x13” pan with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl combine cake mix, butter and 1 egg; mix with fork just until crumbly.
Set aside 1 ½ c. crumbs for topping.
Press the remaining crumbs on bottom of prepared pan; Bake 10 minutes.
Cut peach slices into 1” pieces; Spoon onto partially-baked crust.
In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, 1 egg and vanilla extract; beat with mixer until creamy.
Spread over top of peaches.
Sprinkle with reserved crumbs; Bake 30 minutes.
Chill at least 30 minutes before serving; Serves 12.
Store leftovers in refrigerator.

Paula: Yum! I love making peach cobbler, but dealing with the fresh peaches can be time consuming. This looks so easy! I saved the Personal Recipe from your Recipe Box. Thanks!

JnBham, I was reminded just recently on another chat blog that that's called a "dump cake", because you just "dump" everything in a dish and bake! There are endless varieties you can put together.

I can't wait to try your recipe Paula, but why not submit it to allrecipes? It would be easier for all of us to print, haha ha. Kidding

About Me
My life is filled with cooking and collecting, restoring old furniture and giving new life to old things. I earn my keep by working in commercial insurance. I discovered by accident that I actually have a Kraft video on the Allrecipes site: http://allrecipes.com/video/853/hot-artichoke-feta-dip/detail.aspx?e11=hot%20artichoke%20and%20feta%20dip&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&event8=1&prop24=SR_Showcase&e7=Recipe%20Search%20Results
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to cook is any dessert. Even though I love to experiment with any other recipes, baking is my favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Any holiday-my personal favorite? Halloween It wasn't until I had 2 kids of my own that I discovered how fun Halloween cooking can be!
My cooking triumphs
Appetizer Host for Kraft's Real Women of Philadelphia contest for season 2. Since then, making cooking videos, as contracted.
My cooking tragedies
A slow cooker stuffed cabbage recipe that ended up in the trash. My husband said it looked like (get ready for this) ....afterbirth. It was bad. I've also added too much salt to too many things. A pinch of sugar can sometimes salvage some of it, but the rest also go in the trash! Mistakes are many when a cook attempts to create and recreate. It's just part of the game.
