Dosa Podi with Garlic

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
I dry roast my version, then grind the spices. When serving, I add oil to the podi to make a spread for idly or dosa. Try sprinkling this podi onto roasted potatoes - very tasty!

Italian Cheese Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2005
these were messy and tasted really strange. maybe the pecans weren't processed fully or something. i ended up with a pan full of oily nut mess.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2005
my sister's new favorite cookie. i cheat, though. instead of rolling out the dough or chilling and slicing it i just roll it into little balls, then flatten them evenly with my palm. works well, but you have to be sure to take them out within 10min. so they don't burn.

Swan's Summer Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2002
This soup is so good, I can barely stand it. I'm a gazpacho-junkie so this dish couldn't have been tastier. I must admit, I cheated a bit. I used commercially canned tomato juice...but that bumped up the quickness rating.

Cauliflower and White Cheddar Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2000
just an idea, velveeta in place of cheddar...mmmmm. also, if you want, try using a powdered onion soup mix(one w/out beef fat) + water. i'm not crazy about veggie broth.

Baked Garlic

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2000
Had it not been for the butter, I would have rated this recipe even higher. Roasting is a wonderful way to prepare/serve garlic. Unfortunately, butter is really bad for your body. Why not subsitute olive oil + a pinch of salt as the necessary fat? It isn't as quick, and it's a bit on the messy side, but, your arteries will thank you, later!
