Nutty Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
WOW- This is soooo good!! This has a great buttery taste and a great crunchy texture. I tried the topping from this on an apple pie rather than a traditional crust and it was a hit! I used Empire apples, a traditional pie crust for the bottom and followed the rest of the recipe as is.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
AWESOME! I sauteed a chicken breast in 1 Tablespoon of butter and Frank's Red Hot (wing sauce), added that to the burrito along with some salsa and it was amazing! This was very easy and tasted great. Entire meal from start to finish took 15 minutes.

Rich French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I am rating this recipe 5 based upon ease and taste. It took me 15 minutes to prepare this! I put the ingredients in the crock pot for the day and it was ready for dinner. I did add 3 slices of pre-cooked bacon with the onions when preparing them for the soup. It gave the soup a bit of a smoky flavor. I also added a 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the soup which gave it a very very mild touch of heat. Not being a fan of Swiss I used cheese curds for the cheese and it was great! Would definitely make again!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
These are wonderful sugar cookies. I really don't like sugar cookies and I found these quit tasty! They are not overly sweet like many sugar cookies and the cream cheese gives them much more depth and flavor than the traditional sugar cookie. These also have a great texture; they are crispy on the bottom yet chewy. The other thing that makes these cookies great is you can use a sweet frosting without the cookie becoming overly sweet. These cookies are versatile too; you can add food coloring for color and they would still look great. Next time I will try adding a drop of extract- maybe orange or peppermint.

Rosenmunnar

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
This recipe was one of the easiest recipes I have ever made. Its a great addition to cookie plates because of its ease and colorful presentation. Not only are these easy and beautiful though, they taste great! I used homemade strawberry preserves and combined with the not too sweet buttery taste of the cookie they were awesome! The texture was very good too. The bottoms were nice and crispy but the jam kept the middles soft and chewy. Great cookie, thanks for the recipe; I know I will get tons of compliments on these and asked for the recipe!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I have been a quest to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe and I have finally found it! These were great! The only alterations I made were to refrigerate them for an 2 hours before baking,(they turned out big and thick) and I replaced 2 cups of semi-sweet chips with 1 cup of 60% dark cocoa chips, 1 cup of milk chocolate chips, and 1 cup of finely chopped walnuts. The dough was great tasting and would be a great base dough for other types of cookies. Next time I will add p-nut butter chips as well as chocolate chips!

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
Great recipe, I would definitely make again! I used strawberries and blueberries, and like other people suggested I only used 2 tablespoons of butter & 2.5 cups of fruit. I topped it with whipped topping and it was a hit! It also stayed moist enough that I could re-heat the left overs and not worry about it drying out. Ironically, I don't even like fruit desserts (I usually only make chocolate desserts) but I loved this! The best part was how easy it was. It took me about 10 minutes from beginning to to getting it in the oven. Perhaps I will try cherries or peaches next time... Thanks!

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
WOW, this was great! My fiance loved it and ate leftovers 3 days in a row! I did saute a little garlic and onion then added a dash of Red Hot (or tabasco) to spice it up a little. It was great and I will make it often.
