Homemade Butter

This was wonderful, it has a light texture without the oily film left on my tounge with regular butter. I thought I would be smart and make it in my Vita-Mix, WRONG idea. Because the vita-mix spins so fast, it can heat things up and you can actually make soup in it. I was waiting for the butter to start clumping, and the Vita-mix heated up and turned the butter back into liquid, so I started again, this time with my food processor, and new cold cream. This time it turned out great! I squeezed out the liquid with my hands, then split the batch in half. One half went into my ramekin and into the fridge, the other half I put honey and cinnamon into, yum! With the left over liquid, I added vanilla paste and drank it, again yum!

Bone-In Ham Cooked in Beer

I tried this recipe on Christmas, and should have tested it first. The flavor was good, but it was jerky ham, it was so dry and tough. I had 10lb ham, and judging by other posters, I needed to bake it 4 hours. 2 hours into it, it was done and already dry. I basted it several times too. I might try it again, only maybe try a brown n bag instead, I have good luck with turkeys using a brown n bags.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Sorry, not one of us liked this recipe. It had a weird taste and the topping was too much and flavorless. It wasn't creamy at all. I even doubled this recipe because I was sure we would love it too.

Kim's Macaroni Salad

I really liked this recipe because it doesn't have alot of mayo, which I don't like. I doubled the recipe using 1 16oz bag of shell pasta. I added chopped red bell pepper and chopped olives for color. I thought using 4 jalepeno's would be too much, but I chopped them finely and it was perfect, I love the faint spicyness. I will definetly make it again. Thanks Hawaiian Momma!
