Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
I have made this cake a few times now and have perfected it... First, try and use an angel food cake pan... I use a yellow cake mix with chocolate pudding mix- it gives the cake a color that doesnt look "cake box".. Use one cup of irish cream and make sure that mix for the entire 5 minutes.. For the glaze, add 1/2 shot of whisky (its not strong)- just adds a little extra kick. If you use the angel food pan, the top of the cake is easier to dress with the glaze. Use a chop stick to make 20-30 holes all around the top and pour glaze over- glaze will fall in nice drips along the side. You will NOT be dissapointed with this cake!

Cranberry Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
This bread was wonderful! After greasing the pan, I sprinkled cinnamon and sugar in the pan to give the crust a sweet crunch. I sprinkled some extra chopped walnuts and some "sugar in the raw" on top before baking, and it really does look like a picture! Tastes great and a beautiful holiday bread. Takes no time to whip together too!

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2005
This recipe is SO good and SOO incredibly easy!! The only thing I changed was to use half and half. Next time though I think I'll only use 1 half of a teaspoon of almond extract- the almond flavor is pretty stong.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
Great recipe!! Skipped out on the nuts, used buttermilk instead of the sour milk. ALso baked in 2 9x5 loaf pans. Tip: Grease pan(s) with butter/ shortening and then dust with cinnimon and sugar. Gives the crust a nice sweet flavor!!

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2005
This was the most creative cake Iv ever seen! I made this for my husband to take to work today, he called me at noon and said everyone was cracking up and loved it. I didnt use a liner and it still looked fabulous. I did crush up a Butterfinger and add it to the mix for some extra flavor. I used 4 vanilla snack packs, and it was the perfect amount!

Chocolate Lover's Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2003
Absolutly wonderful cheesecake. I made mine in a pie dish and it still comes out fine. I also use an oreo crust (about half a bag of oreos and 3/4 stick of melted butter)- hey.. if your gonna go chocolate... go all the way! I omit the chocolate chips (to keep the smooth velvety texture) and add 1/4 C expresso to make a "chocolate cappachino" cheesecake. Personally, I think it tastes better than that choc capp. cheesecake recipe on here and WAY easier!! I dont use the sour cream topping because the cheesecake has such a beautiful chocolatly color by itself... Thank you for the recipe!

Bloody Mary Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
Absolutly fantastic. I added 3 chopped celery sticks and a green ball pepper (dont eat after though, it gives chicken a great taste, but is very bitter after cooking so long). I also added about 2 tablespoons of Tabasco sauce. After chicken was cooked through, I SHREDDED it, then put it back into the sauce for 15 minutes to saturate. Served over rice. It was so good!! I made a couple times according to the recipe, but the breasts came out so dry. The bloody mary mix is a brilliant idea!

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
This was AMAZING. I have heard that if you brown chicken before you put it the crock pot than the outside layer wont let luice run in, so... I skipped out on the browning step. I added a chopped onion and some baby carrots. Its very important that you dont over cook the chicken, but... if you do, just shred it up and serve it over rice. (Thats what happened to me the first time I made this...) I cook mine for 4.5-5 hours. Perfect.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2004
Good Lord. How could anyone come up with a recipe this good?? The best banana bread recipe I have tried. I did take some others advice and use half white sugar and half brown. All I had was regular sour cream, and it didn't seem to make a difference. Next time, I'll use mini chips. Thanks for the great recipe!!!

Best Ever Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2005
As like what others said, this is a good started point. I added 1 cup of Bloody Mary Mix (left over from the bloody mary chicken- which I highly recommend!!) instead of the tomato juice, a chopped onion, a big spoonful of minced garlic and about a tablespoon of tabasco sauce. It was wonderful!

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
Wonderful. Instead of using the powdered sugar, I use about 3/4 C of white sugar. It gives the crust more of a shortbread taste rather than being on the "crumbly" side... The first time I made these, I realized after the crust was cooking that I only had a cup of white sugar left, so I added half a cup of brown sugar. The end result was more of a cookie tasting chewy bar instead of the usual lemon bar texture. (A good mistake!) I also add 1/2 teaspoon of salt fruit mixture. Excellent recipe!

Amy's Marvelous Marbled Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
Wonderful! I used a 9" pie plate. I dont think this would be enough for a spring pan.. I didnt taste this personally because my husband brought it to work, but called around noon and said it was gone (good sign!) I also used an crushed oreos to make the crust.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2005
I forgot to do the layer thing..., so I just put the brown sugar/cinnimon (I ommited the nuts and added 2 tablespoons of melted butter to the mix prior to putting it on top of cake.) When the cake came out, it looked very "cake mix" like, but after it sat for a couple hours... it became flat. My husband took this to work, and while I personally havnt tasted it, he called and said it was deliciuos, and I was welcome to make it anytime! Very easy!
