Hearty Multigrain Bread

The texture and density were good but this bread was way too sweet and needed more grains. Next time I will halve the sugar content as it tasted too much like a dessert!

This was delicious! I made the dough in my bread maker, so it was super easy. I also added walnuts, which worked really well. Next time I might also try apple

Sourdough Starter

I am so glad I read the reviews before trying this! I forgot to feed the starter once and it never bounced back. I think there is very little live yeast left in it as the bread comes out very flat and dense. I have now started adding extra yeast and this seems to help. There is also not a very strong sour flavor but I hope this will improve with age.

Baked Salmon II

Maple Salmon

Really delicious flavors. I baked it on a bed of julienned carrots and they added even more sweetness and some crunch. This is now a staple at our place. Beautiful!

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

This was Pretty good. I didn't have any of the seasoning so I just used salt, pepper and parsley and they came out really well. I forgot to squeeze out the excess fluid from the zucchini but they were quite nice anyway; gooey centers with crispy exterior. They were wolfed down by my hungy mob in a flash.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

This was sensational! Having never had eggnog before I wasn't sure what to expect but we all devoured it in no time. We made a non-alcoholic version for the kids and then added a shot each of Baileys Irish cream whiskey to our own cups and it was divine. Next time I am at home for Christmas (in Australia) I'll make it into ice cream so we can still enjoy these amazing flavours.

Quick and Easy Apple Muffins

After reading the reviews I decided to add some extra flavour. I made the following changes: 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 grated apple, 3/4cups brown sugar, 1 cup wholewheat flour with 1 cup white flour,zest of 1 orange and then chopped up and added the flesh of the orange (after removing pith). It was really delicious but not too sweet and the orange provided little pops of moisture that worked well.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

This was quite nice and my whole family ate it happily. I substituted fresh garlic and onion instead of the powdered version and then fried the chicken off prior to cooking it in the oven for about 20 min on 180 C. Just prior to serving I squeezed lime juice over the sliced up chicken and served with a couple of salads. It was a lovely, light meal.

Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream

This was delicious! I put in half a cup of sugar plus a tsp of vanilla and it tasted divine. Even non-coffee lovers thought it tasted fantastic. Well done to the recipe submitter!

Zucchini-Coconut Cookie Bars

I reduced the sugar to 3/4 cups and didn't put on the icing. Also, I used wholewheat flour to make it a healthier snack for the kids. They loved it!

Apple Pie Muffins

This was delicious and my kids loved them! I halved the sugar content, used wholewheat flour and used oil instead of butter (only b/c I didn't have any) and they were great. I didn't do the topping either so I added cinnamon to the mixture. This recipe is a keeper!

Beef Yakitori

I must have done something wrong. Even though I cook Asian cuisines all the time, and I followed all the instructions closely, it tasted nothing like yakitori. My suggestions would be to halve the amount of soy and use a better quality cut of beef...or just use a different recipe!
