Crunchy Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
I was shocked that this really does turn out crunchy.Be careful though this recipe was made in a lower wattage microwave ( I think 850 ) and will burn very easily during the last minute of cooking if made in a high wattage microwave. And don't use a flimsy plastic bowl as this recipe gets really, really hot.

Pears Panos

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
OH MY GOSH!!!! I had 2 fresh pears I needed to use and found this recipe. Just what I was looking for. In fact, I made it again 2 days later with slices of fresh pears , honeycrisp apples and a small amt. of ground nutmeg added. Great with or without the orange flavoring.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Wonderful! I made a few adjustments though. I used white pepper so I wouldn't have black specks in the finished product. It was alittle salty so next time I will omit the salt and I doubled the blue cheese (just my preference.) I doubt that I will ever buy processed blue cheese dressing again. The longer it sits, the better it gets!!!!!!!!!!1

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
Love this recipe! Easy to make and produces a lg. quantity for your effort.I did use the coffee grinder as suggested and found it worked great albeit time consuming. I also added a pinch of white pepper to give it just alittle "kick." I enjoy this at home, work and even take it camping in the fall.I also offer it as a nice alternative to tea or coffee when friends and family stop by. It never fails to bring a "yummmm" to the lips of those that enjoy it.I've been asked for the recipe on more than one ocassion. Thanks again.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2007
Took the tips from others and added some dry spices to the cream cheese. Also, I cut a "section" out of the larger olive to expose the cream cheese better. I cut the carrot pieces thinner for easier insertion into the olive and this worked much better. I have made these twice and will make again even though they are VERY time consuming. The raves are certainly worth it and they taste pretty good too. Besides, the humor they brought me was priceless!I just couldn't keep from opening the refridgerator door and giggling!!!!

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
A bit of a pain to make, (more time consuming than anything) but, well worth the effort.I added alittle ground nutmeg and applepie spice to add more flavor. I frosted it with the Cream Cheese II frosting and took it to work. The response went something like this...awesome, great, fabulous etc.. Anyway, I will make this again (per request) for a coworkers birthday this month. This time I may cheat and buy the already shredded carrots in the veggie dept.to cut down on time.Yummmmm!

Perfect Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2006
Very, very yummy! This would make a great Lemon Meringue Pie. Had it with the Simple Scone recipe I found on All Recipes along with fresh smashed strawberries.Everybody in the breakroom was salivating. But I was selfish and didn't share the goods. Just the recipe site was all they got from me!

Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
These were really YUMMY!! I added artichoke hearts, increased the bacon and added 1 extra egg. My husband who is not especially fond of quiche really, really liked them. This was exactly what I was searching for. The added cream cheese addition is the bomb and is what sets this apart from any other quiche recipe. Thanks!!!!!!!

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
I have a similar recipe using regular breakfast sausage that I liked more. This one was very bland. I referred to my other recipe and added potatoes and basil. Left out the spinach and zucchini.

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

My husband loves my homemade mushroom soup but I wanted to get other ideas to enhance the flavor. So, I hit the jackpot with this one! Do your self a favor, DON'T omit the sherry even if you have to make a special trip to the store to purchase it. It adds a wonderful flavor to any mushroom dish.

The Sarge's Goetta - German Breakfast Treat

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2005
My husband and I live 50 miles north of Cincinnati and had never even heard of goetta. It truly is a Cincinnati thing. Our daughter-in-law who was raised in Cinci. introduced it to us.Wow! We were immediatly hooked. So much so, I went on the hunt for a recipe and was elated to find this one. I increased the pepper to 3 teaspoons to kick it up a notch. We really like pepper. My husband keeps raving about it. I know this is a recipe I will use often and will quickly end up as a " Grandma's recipe" that will be handed down through the family. Thanks for the recipe!!!!!

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2005
Sounded different. Thought I'd give it a try. Didn't have strawberries so I used frozen blackberries instead.Texture was alittle gritty so next time I'll try pulverizing the oats first in my coffee grinder. Flavor was REALLY GOOD though even made with the blackberries.Gave it a pretty purple color. Thanks for something new, quick and different.
