Pecan Lace Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I was dissapointed by the fact that it said this made 30 cookies. I made 1 1/2 the recipe and was baking this recipe all afternoon!!! I know there is atleast 90 + cookies!!! They taste great and I actually made them as a sandwich with melted semisweet chocolate to hold them together.

Very tasty, moist cake. I didn't measure or drain the tomatoes. The cake is very forgiving as far as adapting...

Pumpkin Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
Sorry, these brownies just didn't do it for me. I followed the directions, baked them per directions. They seemed done, toothpick came out dry. They were way too wet at the pumpkin parts. I could salvage the edges but the middle was way too moist to serve...

Sheryl's Corn and Crab Chowder

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
I have to say, I really didn't follow this recipe that closely. I was looking for something to do with some leftover corn on the cob and some cooked shrimp that I didn't want to go bad. I love soup, so this chowder was the inspiration for mine. I don't really like to measure things and somine was more of a it says white wine and that looks pretty close...I think the best thing about a soup recipe is that you start with the basics and then add the things you like or take away the things you don't like/don't have.

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I think it would be helpful to know how much flour you add after the initial 4 cups. This turned out heavy, really didn't rise very wellbut a very nice taste.

Simple Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
I grew up on sloppy joes and didn't see how the recipe could compare without the vinegar and mustard. I made it with the excption that I used chili sauce instead of ketchup. But then I added a tablespoon of mustard to give it that long remembered flavor. This is a real keeper!!!

Braunschweiger Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This had a nice smooth texture when made in the food processor. I adapted it for a halloween party by making it in a round mold, just a bowl lined with plastic will do. I spread the molded spread with mayo then I made the center of the eye from chopped black olives. I then made the colored part of the eye green by using drained resish. Then I took thin strips of roasted peppers and streaked them through the white to represent a bloodshot eye. I used two different sized mason jar lids as round templates to shape the round eye but thought you could do the some from shaped foil. This was such a hit and could easily be done on a plain cheese ball as well.
