Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2004
Excellent. I used 3 tsp of Dried Brown Gravy Mix instead of a packet of dry au jus mix. I cooked it in my trusty old crockpot for 6-8 hours on low. Served it with a Broccoli Salad and hot biscuits. Wonderful.

Slow Cooker Country-Style Spareribs

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
GOOD. I USUALLY BOIL THE SPARE RIBS FIRST, POUR TWO BOTTLES OF OUR FAVORITE BARBEQUE SAUCE OVER TOP OF THEM AND SLOW COOK UNTIL THEY FALL APART. WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS RECIPE WAS THE GREEN PEPPERS AND ONIONS. I CAN'T SAY WE CARED MUCH FOR THE TOMATO GRAVY. EVERYONE ASKED ME TO GO BACK TO MY ORIGINAL RECIPE ONLY ADD THE VEGGIES. SERVED THE RIBS WITH BAKED POTATOES (WASH, POKE HOLES, SPRAY TIN FOIL WITH BUTTER SPRAY AND SPRINKLE PRETZEL SALT IN THE BUTTER. WRAP TIN FOIL TIGHTLY AROUND POTATO AND PLACE IN OVEN ON 350 FOR 2 HOURS---YUMMY) AND SALAD. FILLING HALFTIME DINNER!

Barbecued Shredded Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2004
EXCELLENT. This is a wonderful recipe. I put it in my crockpot on low and let it cook for hours. Drained the liquid and used the onions with hoagie buns (two days later my boys another sandwich on a hamburger bun). Pulled out hot and mild peppers to put on the sandwich. This will definitely be a recipe I will make at least once a month or until my boy's taste buds change again. Thanks for sharing this.

EXCELLENT. One of my sons LOVES chicken. He asked if this could be added to our weekly menu. Baked potatoes and french fries accompany this great recipe. Easy to make!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2004
Excellent. I used beef rib eye steaks, my boys didn't like them, too fatty. The taste was superb though. I'll try a different cut of steak next time.

Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
Okay. Wasn't impressed with this soup. I guess I was looking for the normal wedding soup recipe. I should have known by the ingredients that it was a clear broth. It wasn't a terrible soup just not what my family's taste buds were in the mood for.

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2003
Excellent. I doubled the recipe because my family are big mashed potato eaters. Will use the leftovers in a perogie casserole (lasagna noodles, mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese and onions). Very tasty.

Savory Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2003
Excellent. I used Liptons beef onion soup in addition to 1 large onion. Did not use the beef enhancer because I did not have it in stock. Instead of cooking in the oven, I browned the roast beef in the skillet as directed and transferred to a crockpot. Served with red mashed potatoes, corn and homemade bread. Delicious meal.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2003
OK. I used 1 cup milk, 1 cup cream, 1 lb. Velveeta and 1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese. Served with croutons. However, I am NOT a fan of Velveeta cheese so it could have been that taste.

OK. We didn't like the sour cream and cottage cheese mixture nor the sausage.

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2003
Excellent. Took the advice of others and used orange juice and brown sugar in place of cranberry juice and sugar. The gravy was tasty. This receipe is definitely a keeper.

German Spaetzle Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2003
Good. Saute with butter and onions, bacon bits and parsley. Served with a Cranberry Pork Roast (see receipe), Homemade Applesauce, Sauerkraut and Mashed Potatoes. It was a yummy German meal. Mixed reviews on the dumplings, some said okay, while others said excellent. So I rated the dumplings in between.

Asparagus Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2003
OK. Too rich for a single meal. If using as a side dish, use half the ingredients unless taking this to a dinner party.
