Lemon Sheet Cake

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
This cake is so GOOD! I got a TON of compliments when I made it. I did add some fresh squeezed lemon juice, and the zest of one lemon. I also used a different lemon cream cheese frosting.

Peanut Butter Bread

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
We LOVE it! All 4 of my boys gave it the thumbs up, and I cant stop eating it either. Since other reviews mentioned it being dry, I decided to leave out the oatmeal, and increase the peanut butter to 1 Cup (I used creamy.). I also doubled the recipe, thank goodness cause my boys ate it right up! It baked for exactly 55 minutes. I let it cool slightly, then wrapped it up tight with foil and put it in the fridge over night. This morning for breakfast I microwaved slices for just a few seconds and lightly drizzled with honey - amazing! Thanks for a new family favorite!

Strawberry Dream Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I made this cake for my moms birthday because she LOVES strawberries. I read all the reviews and decided to make this cake using a Golden Vanilla cake mix, leaving out the oil, only using 3 eggs, used strawberry cream cheese, and of course the pureed strawberries. The cake turned out PERFECT! I baked it for about 28 minutes, and my toothpick test actually came out clean. It was dense like a homemade cake is supposed to be. But not overly so. I also waited till the cake was cool covered them and put them in the fridge overnight. This cake needs to be kept cold. For the frosting I made it according to the directions except I used strawberry cream cheese. I didnt have any problems with my white chocolate and cream cheese melting, I whipped it all together using my Kitchenaid mixer. But even after waiting for it to cool then adding the Cool Whip and letting it sit in the coldest part of my refrigerator overnight it was very liquidy. So I put it in my deep freezer until the edges started to freeze, whipped it at the highest speed on my KitchenAid, and added 2 heaping tablespoons of confectioners sugar. It was absolutely PERFECT! The best frosting I have ever had. My cake got rave reviews, both my mom and my aunt said it was the best cake they had ever had in their whole lives. I put a thin layer of frosting and strawberries in between the layers, and garnished the cake with sliced strawberries and chocolate covered strawberries. Thanks for a great recipe!

Faux-reos

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
I am on a diet. I chose to make these cookies for my kids since I am not really that fond of Oreo's. I figured these cookies would be easy to resist... Oh silly me! These are WAY WAY better than Oreos! I am feeding them to my kids and giving them to family at every oppurtunity just so I wont eat them all!! lol I used 2 different kinds of chocolate cake mix, I think one was Chocolate Fudge (a cheapie brand), and the other was a Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate. They mixed up nicely. Not messy at all. I used a 1/2 Tablespoon to scoop them then rolled them into balls. Yes, very time consuming. (but worth it!) I also decided to use my favorite buttercream frosting recipe. I added a little extra powdered sugar to make it stiffer. And they are really really good! Im going to add these to my Christmas Platters that I give to friends and family.

Zucchini Brownies

I thought these were just ok. And I didnt really care for the frosting, I think they would have been better with a different frosting. I made them exactly as posted in the recipe.

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
This was such a great idea! I made in honor of my sisters cats bday. (I needed a reason to make it! LOL) It really grossed out my dad. I used a cardboard box and a kitty box liner for a realistic effect.

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2005
This is a really good recipe!! My whole family loved it - husband, kids and parents! I didnt have chile paste so I used crushed red peppers. We also BBQ'ed the chicken and I made an extra batch of the marinade to use as a dip and to pour on the rice. YUM! Thanks for a great recipe!

Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy

Reviewed: May 18, 2004
My family loved this recipe! I made the meat into meatballs, and had no problem with them trying to fall apart. They stayed together nicely. I made them pretty small so maybe that helped.. I didnt think that the gravy or the meatballs tasted like ketchup at all. The trick must be in adding a large onion and really simmering it. (Even though I didnt eat the chunks of onion.) We didnt think it tasted like sloppy joes or meatloaf at all either. Myself, my husband and my 3 year old really liked it. He said "yummy yummy mommy". Also we didnt serve them over noodles, just by themselves with side dishes of mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. We all agreed that it would probably be gross if it were to be served over noodles. Anyways, I think you should give it a try!
