Orange Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2003
This recipe is awesome! My husband loved it and my picky 2 year old even ate it up! The sauce thickened up really nicely, maybe a little too thick but it tasted great! I made it with some rice, next time I will try some carrots also. I wasn't too sure about the thick batter on the chicken under the bread crumbs at first but it tasted great. The almonds really added to the taste of the chicken. Great recipe!

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
This is THE best spinach dip! I have always liked spinach dip but I never knew how to make it. This is so quick and easy to make and so so yummy! If I need the ingredients while at the store, I can just look on the back of the Knorr Vegetable soup mix. Thanks,I wouldn't have thought to look at that mix to find the recipe!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
Absolutely wonderful beef stew recipe. Have made it a few times and comes out perfect every time. I buy chuck and cut it up myself. I brown the meat before hand in olive oil instead of vegie oil and wouldn't recommend skipping this step. I think it makes the meat more tender and gives it better flavor. This last time I cooked it for 7 hours in my crock pot. The first 5 were on High with the last 2 on low. I use Minor's Beef base instead of canned stock. I think it has excellent flavor and doesn't taste near as salty as other stocks. I cooked that with the meat for 2 hours and then added chunks of potatoes with the skin on and baby carrots cut in half. I used a yellow onion diced instead of boiling onions. The onions weren't even noticeable and there were big chunks of potatoes as well as small pieces of potatoes since I cut them in various sizes. I did not add the water and flour mixture at the end and my stew always comes out nice and hearty. Makes fabulous left overs! I do not care for beef stews with tomato in it and this stew is perfect! It kind of reminds me of Dinty Moore beef stew, if you have ever had that. Oh, and I also add 3-4 cloves of garlic pressed in my garlic press. YUM!! Thanks for sharing! This is my perfect stew!! Even my oh so very picky eater will eat this!!

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2012
I made three different blueberry muffin recipes in one day to find the best recipe. This recipe was my favorite. The others were too sweet. This one calls for vanilla and the others did not and we preferred the muffins flavor on this one much better. The topping was good. Only complaint was one recipe called for slightly more blueberries than this one did and I liked the larger amount (just a half cup more). This recipe will be my go to recipe for blueberry muffins! Thanks!!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
This dish was really good. My hubby and BIL even liked it and they can be pretty picky! I used the full 1/2 cup balsamic and I added half a yellow bell pepper and half a red bell pepper. I also used fresh garlic instead of garlic salt and next time I will use fresh herbs and probably the whole bell peppers. Thanks for a great healthy recipe!

Clark Gable Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
Awesome! These were so light and fluffy! I added a couple Tablespoons of sugar and I cut back on the Baking Powder to a little over a Tablespoon. I also used butter instead of oil. My husband is very picky about his pancakes and he loved them! This is a keeper, better than my favorite boxed mix!!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
I was a bit nervous putting all these ingredients together but it turned out really well. Unlike other people I did not think that the dressing was too sweet. I cut the recipe in half for the dressing and made one batch with splenda and one batch with sugar. I did not have any of the seeds so I made it without. I also toasted the almonds and those were wonderful. My inlaws thought it was really good. My husband even ate some and said it was good and he NEVER touches salad.

Cranberry Apple Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Made this a few years back and it was good but thought it would be better as a crisp. Made it last night as a crisp and it was excellent! I used 8 Granny Smith apples and followed the rest except no pie crust of course. Oh, I also sprinkled in some cinnamon with the apples/cranberry mixture. Turned out great! Thanks for a yummy and quick/easy recipe! :)

Pretty good! I cut the vinegar in half and will do that again next time. We served it over rice and had Steamed baby carrots and brocoli as a side. Next time I may throw in some bell pepper while its cooking.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
I made this last night and followed the recipe exactly. It didn't have enough chocolate flavor and was a tad sweet. I made it again tonight and added a tablespoon and a half more cocoa powder and it tasted much better. The sugar to chocolate ratio seemed more acurate. Even though it tasted much better than last night, I'm still not too sure that this is "the" recipe...I may keep looking. It is a very easy recipe and it thickens up nicely.
