Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
My kids loved the dog ( of course) and the caramelized onions, but the cream cheese was too rich for them, which surprised me, as they love cream cheese. The rest is great. Not a recipe I needed to look up though, I was trying it for the cream cheese.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
This will be the 5th time making this recipe. I absolutely love it!! The only change I made was using buttermilk. When you do add the buttermilk, the batter is quite a bit thicker, so I had to add more until the consistency was perfect. Will be making these a lot!

PHILADELPHIA New York Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
My son asked for a blueberry swirl new York cheesecake. I used this recipe and 2 cups of Graham crackers with 1/4 C sugar and 1/2 cup melted butter ( could have used less). I used a 10" springform pan.I followed the directions for the cheesecake, and put half the batter over the crumb mixture ( that was pressed on the bottom of the pan ). Then I took about 1/2 C of blueberry filling, and carefully spooned the filling in a circle around the cheesecake, then did another, smaller circle inside that circle, and continued until I had about 4 circles. Then I took a butter knife and swirled the circles together. Then I put the remaining cheesecake filling over the top, and added another layer of the blueberry filling. Baking it for 75 minutes, and allowing it to cool for 2 hours. I garnished it with whipping cream and a few fresh blueberries.

Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2013
I followed the directions exactly, and I make 3-4 loaves of bread a week for my family, but this loaf did not turn out like it should have. It was too dry, so I added some warm water. When the dough felt perfect, I kneaded it and let it rise. It did not rise up like my other loaves, and after baking it the bread turned out like a loaf of banana bread rather than a loaf of wheat. I will not make it again. I did not want to rate it 1 star, but that is what I felt it deserved.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: May 26, 2013
great recipe!! I followed the advice from previous members and added 1 1/2 teaspoons of quick yeast to the recipe, cooked it in the oven after I used the "dough" cycle on my machine, for 23 minutes at 350F. It was beautiful! I topped it with melted butter, YUM! I will be saving this one.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: May 26, 2013
This is the second time making this recipe, and the only change I have made is 2 tablespoons more of melted butter (made a big difference for me in flavor) and baking time and temp., I baked them at 350 F for 23 minutes and they were perfect! Would not change anything else- absolutely loved them.

Eggnog Tapioca

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
This is the first time using this recipe. I liked the idea of using eggnog with the milk for added flavor. I just used 'Darigold' Eggnog, it is a family favorite. However, as I was cooking it just after I added the large tapioca pearls, I tasted it. Just eggnog and milk was a bit bland. I felt it needed some cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg.. So I added about 1-2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg. Even though it says to turn to low and simmer, I noticed that the milk base was sticking to the bottom of my pan. So I did stir it every 5-10 minutes to avoid scorching. After I tempered the eggs (for me it only took about 1/2 C of the hot mixture added small amounts at a time), I cooked for 15 minutes, then tasted. It really was not sweet enough. I added 1/4 C of sugar. Much better! It did set up to be nice and thick. I put plastic wrap just over the top of the pudding mixture (not over the pan) and let it cool, that way it does not get that thick crust on top as it cools. Yummy served with homemade whip cream and a pinch of cinnamon on top. Thanks for the recipe- I will be making it again!!

Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
This is the second time I have made this cheesecake in 2 weeks. I make one every weekend ( a different flavor each time). This was one of the family's favorite. The first time I made it without the shot of coffee. I also poured half the batter in the crust, and then added about 1/4 C store bought caramel sauce, then added the remaining batter, and topped it off with swirls of more caramel sauce, being sure to use a knife and swirl it all together for a great presentation--so it was a caramel cheesecake. The 2nd time we used the coffee, and we made homemade caramel sauce. The 2nd one was better by far (both are very good), and we still added the caramel after pouring half the filling in, then adding remaining and topping with more caramel, then used a knife for a swirl effect. Gorgeous and very delicious!! LOVE IT!

Grammy Burnham's Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
Due to this getting so many rave reviews, I decided to try it and make it without the coffee and just the carmel ( put about 1/4 cup on top of a layer that I put down first on the crust-then put the rest of the batter, then added about 3 tablespoons more and swirled it-gorgeous). It turned out beautiful!! I also highly recommend using a water bath around the cheesecake as it bakes. Great recipe! Even without the coffee.

they were so delicious and they raised up to make good sized rolls. All I did was add the 'cook and serve' vanilla pudding because I didn't have the quick serve. It still tastes good to me!
