I don't hop on the scale very often. I stay on my life plan and after a couple weeks when I am feeling good, I check out my weight. I don't weigh myself if I am feeling fat or bloated. That's because I know if my weight is up,  even if I know it's just normal fluctuation. I am going to… MORE

I had an idea while gazing at the red and white plaid notebook cover of my oldest cookbook. You know the one. You probably have it too. I first became acquainted with it as a child because my mother had one. Hers was chock-full of magazine clippings and handwritten how-tos from friends and… MORE

... or take it from a beehive, it's not natural sweetening. While I am confident that Splenda is safe for adults in the tiny amounts I use, I am not qualified to make any claims on behalf of anyone else. The best thing is to get used to eating without any sweetening or to use fruits. I am not… MORE

I love pizza. Unfortunately it's not on the diet, well the crust isn't anyway. This is my low carb answer to pizza. It's super fast and because I use nitrate free pepperoni and turkey sausage more healthy and lean than regular pizza. My husband and I split this by itself for dinner, but it… MORE

AllRecipes ingredient search gets me this recipe for Middle Eastern Stuffed Zucchini. I am way too impatient to stuff Zucchini and I don't eat rice, so I am seeing another one of my bowl recipes coming on. The essential flavors will be lamb, lemon, garlic and mint. Anyone have a different idea?… MORE

I received a comment about my use of Splenda in cooking, so I thought I would just state my position here. Obviously I think Splenda is okay, or I wouldn't put include it in my recipes or use it myself. I think it's a better health choice than refined sugar or other artificial sweeteners for… MORE

About Me
I am a 51 year old game designer, grandmother and entrepreneur. I have been cooking for family all my life. These days I cook at least twice a day for my husband and I who are both on low carbohydrate diets for life.
My favorite things to cook
Sadly I love to bake... oh well. So instead I specialize in yummy stove top cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a traditional English cook. 'nuf said. I use Mexican, Asian, Indian and American spice combinations in my own recipes.
My cooking triumphs
I have cooked dinner for 30 and have it come off with aplomb.
My cooking tragedies
I once made a birthday cake for someone when I could not smell things properly. I didn't realize my vegetable oil had gone rancid. Yuck.
