Wilted Cabbage Salad with Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
This is a great side dish. I keep cabbage in the refrigerator all the time. It seems to keep a really long time. I call mine fried cabbage, whether you put vinegar on it, sour cream, or plain it is good.

Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
This recipe is wonderful... After the apple dish is baked and cooled, I take any size flour tortilla place baked apples down the center and wrap like A burrito. Spray the top of each burrito with a little butter. Flavored Pam, sprinkle with a little cinnamon sugar and bake at 350 degrees until burrito is browned, just a few minutes, and presto hand pies! Let cool and enjoy. Everyone wants to know how to make these, they are a big hit,

Fried Lobster

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
I adjusted the recipe for one a 4 oz. Lobster tail yields 6 bite size pieces. Also added 1 tsp. Old Bay seasoning to the flour mix. Deep fried using canola oil, turned out wonderful, was not greasy and the lobster was delishessly tender. I discovered fried lobster on the east coast, haven't found it since, loved it then now I can love it again. Thanks for the recipe...

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
First time at brining a turkey, it was simple but alittle time consuming making the vegetable stock, the end result was well worth it. Important to remember brining shortens the bake time. I did an 8lb. turkey in 3 hours! I was planning on 4 hours....The turkey was moist and very flavorful. I will do this again definitley.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2012
I fixed this recipe last night using jumbo shrimp, it was the best dinner I fixed in quite awhile. My husband thought the shrimp were excellent every bit as good as you would get in a restaurant(better in my opinion) I followed some other suggestions, I put the coconut in my magic bullet and chopped a little finer. I added Old Bay Seasoning , a touch of garlic powder and paprika to the dredging flour, after placing the breaded shrimp in wax paper lined pan, I placed it in the freezer for 30 min. They came out of the deep fryer brown crisp and wonderful!

Potato Chips

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
These are great! It is a wonderful snack and the taste is far better than bag potato chips. The best part, you don't end up eating the whole bag! One potato is plenty to satisfy that craving..

Fried Irish Cabbage with Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
I've been making this for years..I shred the cabbage instead of chopping it cooks more evenly. BIG TIP: you can also use pre-shredded cabbage from the grocery store, which makes it fast and easy. I add whatever I have avail. onion red or yellow, celery chopped finely. I also have prefried bacon in my freezer which is very convenient. And I keep the bacon grease in the refrigerator for seasoning other dishes. My husband loves this dish. And even if you don't like cabbage, you may want to try this, it just might change your mind on cabbage.

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
I made this yesterday, used portebella mushrooms, didn't have enough so I added a can of mushrooms drained. Used 1/2 C. cream, and 1/2 C. half & Half. Only pureed 1/2 of mixture. It was SO GOOD. I had to hurry & freeze some before my husband ate it all. I used to get cr. of mushroom soup in Pennsyvania at a tavern that was known for their soup. Since I've moved never ate it again until yesterday, brought back fond memories. Will keep this recipe handy, and make again....

Restaurant-Style Taco Meat Seasoning

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
This taco meat is as good as any restaurant, and probably healthier since you rinse the meat. I make a triple batch then freeze individual pkgs. for taco salads, burros, tacos, whatever we are in the mood for.

Shrimp Francesca

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
Really a keeper, I also browned the dish under the broiler for a few minutes, I did half with artichoke hearts and half with broccoli florets, for those who don't like artichoke, placed whole cherry tomatoes throughout the dish for some color, also used a 3-cheese combination, parmesan, romano, asiago on top, served over angel hair pasta. Will definitely make this again...my husband thought it was very good...
