Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Pretty tasteless, even though I'm always generous with my vanilla extract AND I added cinnamon. Even after I added chocolate chips to make up for the tastelessness I didn't enjoy them. The oats gave it a kind of creepy texture, I think the proportions are wrong. They definitely aren't very sweet, either. With so many other pancake recipes out there, there's no reason to waste time on such a mediocre one.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
Taste like brownies. I get intense chocolate cravings, and these actually hit the spot. They were impossible to work with, though. I chilled them for a few hours, making the dough (it was more like batter, really) more solid. Unfortunately, this didn't keep it from sticking like crazy to my fingers. I had to coat them and my hands in powdered sugar just to get them to the baking sheet. They also really stuck to the cookie sheet. IF I make these again, which I probably won't, I'll definitely use parchment paper. They're really crumbly. If they didn't taste so chocolaty I'd give them way less stars...

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
Tasty. I don't really ever make my own frosting, and the last time I tried it was a disaster, so I was pleasantly surprised with this. I used just a few splashes of skim milk instead of evaporated, because that's what I had. I also used 3 tablespoons of the Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder, and the other 3 I used Ghiradelli unsweetened cocoa powder. If you leave some extra of this stuff in the fridge, it tastes just like fudge!!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
These were just OK. They were extremely brown sugar-y and a bit greasy. They tasted more "commercial" (or store-bought) than I prefer. They were chewy, but they fall apart really easily when you try to eat them. They were decent. I guess. Even for their type of cookie (the chewy, larger kind) they weren't very good. I'm sorry. They're not exactly sub-par, I suppose. Just... par.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
This was pretty disappointing. I did all the right things: I substituted butter for the crisco, I beat the heck out of the butter and sugar, and I added the eggs one at a time. The cake was very dense and maybe even a little oily. I have to say, though I didn't want to, this definitely reminded me of corn bread. I gave it two stars because it IS edible, but I won't be making this again.

Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
These are tasty, but not scones in MY opinion. I'm pretty picky about mine, I like them a little drier and denser. My first thought when I bit into these was "biscuit." They even had that strange Bisquick-y taste. BUT they still taste okay. I'll enjoy them, just keep looking for another scone recipe...

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
These taste very good! My only problem is that the day after they were quite hard. I'm still eating them, they taste good. I just wish they were as "chewy" as others say they are. Perhaps I did something wrong? I'd like to know, so that I can make them again. :)
