Been wanting to do another food cake for some time but I have been super busy. Cake orders and kids tend to do that to you. My mom just came out to visit for a week and I wanted her to be able to take some stuff back to AZ for herself and my family out there so when she picked out these egg… MORE

After all my cakes were done, I was left with a good amount of leftover cakes in my freezer. So now it's time to play! I am going to start doing a "Food Cake" once a month. I don't know what it is, my love for food or my love for cake that makes me really love cakes that look like other food… MORE

Five days of sunshine in a row here, that was until yesterday and than it went back to cold and rainy. Knowing I would be stuck indoors with my 2 kids plus 2 others I wanted to do a project with my daughter and her friend for Easter. I thought Easter Egg cookies would be fun to do, MORE

Hello everyone, today my family found out that my lovely niece Ariel has juvenile diabetes. As unfortunate as it is for someone so young to get diabetes (she just turned 9) we don’t want to dwell on it, we rather work towards making life better for her. I was hoping someone else might have some MORE

Hello Fellow food lovers! This is quite new to me, blogging, but I have wanted to do it for some time now, but if I was going to do it than it had to be something I am passionate about and it had to be shared with people who have the same passion as I. I’m writing this entry as my first blog… MORE

About Me
I am a mother of two, a four year old girl and a 2 year old boy. My husband is in the USCG and we are currently stationed in Kodiak, AK. I started cooking for my family really young and haven't stopped since. In high school I took cake decorating lessons and went to culinary school during and after I graduated high school. I cake decorated and cooked in resturants until I stopped to focus on starting a family. I still love to cook and bake for my family and friends but my real passion is cake decorating, finding the time to do it is harder now. I can't wait till my kids are old enough to teach them, my 4 year old is already a big help in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Not much I don't like to cook. I love to bake, make sushi, mexican food and love to try new dishes. At least once a week we eat something new from this site. We hardly eat the same thing twice in a month unless it's one of our favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I try to combind things my husband remembers from his childhood with things of mine and start our own tradition when it comes to special dishes and meals.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph should have been my biggest tragedies. When I made my little sisters wedding cake I made it without any oil! No one ever knew infact I didn't know until days later when I started thinking about it. I had to make this cake in another state and was out of my comfort zone doing so.
My cooking tragedies
I can't think of anything huge, but the second time that I ever cooked a turkey I didn't remove the giblets out of the neck cavity of the bird, I didn't feel them in there and cooked it with the package in.
