Waffles I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Excellent! I've had my new waffle iron for ten days and I have used this recipe every day since. Like suggested, I make the batter the night before so all I have to do is heat the waffle iron. Delicious!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I guess I'm just expecting too much or I just don't like chocolate chip cookies. My son loved them and that's all that matters. :)

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
The ultimate Banana Pudding recipe, no need to look further. This was one of my grandfather's favorite desserts and it has become one of my family's favorites as well. I used sugar free vanilla pudding this time to cut some of the sugar and it turned out great!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
These cookies are fantastic! I made them as the recipe directs and they are so good. I'm not one to change a recipe and then rate but the next time I make these (soon) I will probably add orange zest and/or juice in place of the water. These cookies remind me alot of Gingerbread Men (doesn't need molasses) recipe on this very site. You can't go wrong with this recipe, it's a keeper and it makes your home smell so good too!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
We just got through eating this wonderful pot pie, our son had two servings which makes mommy very happy because it has vegetables in it. I put the onions in the food processor so they wouldn't be noticed. I don't like to change recipes and then rate them so I always make them as is. I did however steam some broccoli and mix it in with my serving. For the pie crusts, I used Wal-Mart brand pie shells that are in the dairy isle. Great Value is the brand and they are so much better than the Pillsbury brand...go figure. This is a keeper for sure.

Pumpkin Roll II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I've been making these for years. If I remember correctly, my husband proposed to me not long after I made him his first pumpkin roll. He even licks the bowl and beaters after I make the icing! You can't go wrong with this recipe, it is a keeper for sure.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
This is a great recipe, my family loved it! The steps are easy to follow and allow ample time to make your side dishes. I served with mash potatoes, green salad, applesauce, and hot rolls. The flavor was wonderful, a real stick-to-your-ribs meal. If you are craving down home cooking, this is it. While I cook healthy meals for my family every night, I could easily add this to our menu once a month for a real treat.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Wonderful soup on a chilly Fall evening. This made the house smell so good. I served it with cornbread and a small salad. Another great soup to add to my repertoire.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Delicious! Better than the boxed variety and like one of the others said before, less calories! Even better than the lower calories is the fact that there are no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. A keeper for sure.

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
For all the trouble, I would rather just use some left over chili that my husband makes. It was ok but lacking on the chili flavor.

Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
Yummy, my husband ate these up. He liked the oats and raspberry combination. When you need a quick and easy dessert or something to take to a pot-luck, try these. Like Mallery said, I think the lemon cake mix would be very good too, I will try it as well.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
**********etc, this is a GREAT recipe! Like others, I used chicken breast and doubled the sauce. I can't say enough about this teriyaki chicken. It is so moist and tender you can cut it with a fork. Since I double the sauce there is always some left over so I use it to stir fry beef and brocolli the next day. It is so easy and delicious!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
My husband and son ate this but didn't say anything good or bad. For me it was just too many flavors and it left me wondering which direction the recipe was trying to go.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
This is an excellent recipe, especially if you are looking for a taste of Fall. Since there is only 3 of us, I cut the recipe in half and baked it in an 8X8 pan. However, I DID NOT cut the topping recipe in half. I used the full recipe and it was absolutely delicious. I served warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup. This will be my Apple Crisp recipe from now on. I don't know if it matters but I used Granny Smith apples as I do for all of my apple baking recipes.

Sopapillas

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
There are so many recipes for sopapillas that are good but not authentic. This recipe is both! I like to serve these for dessert after we have had a mexican dinner. These are easy, fast, and so yummy! They puff up while they are frying so when you take a bite it leaves a hole that you can fill up with honey. A real authentic treat that uses very few ingredients. When you have nothing for dessert you probably have everything you need to whip up a batch of these sopapillas.

Spicy Crispy Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
I have made this several times, it is a wonderful substitute for chinese take-out because you know what's going in it. The corn starch is what gives the beef it's crispiness that lasts even after you put the sauce over it. I agree with others, put the beef into the freezer for a short time before slicing. It really does help in getting a thinner slice. I usually double the sauce and serve with steamed brocolli, Jasmine rice, and an eggroll. A great recipe that will be enjoyed time and time again. By the way, leftovers are great!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
If you are out of ideas on what to cook for dinner and you have a whole chicken in the freezer, try this recipe. Wonderful flavor and very moist! I don't like to change a recipe and then rate it but I did add a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary to the cavity of the bird. The aroma reminded me that Thanksgiving is only a couple of months away! With or without the rosemary, a keeper recipe for sure.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2009
I have made these at least three times now, they are so easy and delicious! My hubby and son both think they are one of the best cookies I make. I took them to work the first time I made them and everyone loved them but thought they looked too difficult to make themselves. I passed out the recipe and in a matter of a few days, some of the ladies were bringing them to work. ;0) I can't say enough about these cookies. Make them for your "Cookie Monsters".
