Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
Great sauce. Very thick and delicious. I served it right away, though I read other reviews that said not to, but I didn't have time to wait. Oddly enough it tasted like cherries to me, my kids thought so too. But, it was still delicious and I made the recipe just as it stated. I did use fresh picked Maine wild blueberries (a perk living in Maine!) so that may have affected the flavor since they have a different flavor than other types of blueberries. Overall I was satisfied and will make this again.

Sweet Potato Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
I made this for Thanksgiving this year, having never made it before. Let me start off by saying this is VERY sweet! I love sweet things, so that is fine with me, but it was almost like a dessert it was so sweet! Secondly, it was a bit runny. I followed the instructions completely and my sweet potatoes were mush by the time I was done cooking them. After letting it sit for a bit after baked it did thicken a little, and trust me, we all still ate it. But I would suggest maybe cooking the sweet potatoes only for about 5 minutes, if at all! Overall a good recipe.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
I made this bread because I was looking for a banana bread recipe that called for buttermilk. I made it exactly according to directions and it came out wonderfully! It doesn't puff up like I am used to, it stayed pretty flat on the top, but that doesn't matter to me. I would rank this right up there with my normal recipe that I use, so it is VERY good! Quick and easy to make too!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I am always in search of the perfect pancakes recipe. This isn't quite perfect for me, but very close. I doubled the recipe and it didn't make enough for my family of six. I will triple the recipe next time. I think maybe adding some vanilla and/or cinnamon might make them a bit tastier. overall a very good pancake recipe.

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
Great cookies, and very easy to make. They were not as peanut-buttery as I would like, but still very tasty. My family loves them. I will make these often!

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I followed this recipe exactly, but found that it doesn't state what size loaf this makes so i was not sure of what setting to choose on my bread machine (1lb, 1.5 lb or 2 lb) I went with the middle ground and chose 1.5 lb but found that it didn't cook quite long enough, so I think the 2lb loaf selection would have been a better choice. Because it didn't cook quite long enough it did come out a bit doughy, but the flavor was still wonderful and I think that the next time I make this, using the 2lb option, that it will be perfect. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
Oh my goodness, this soup was delicious! I used leftover chicken from a chicken I roasted the night before and added carrots (that I boiled for a bit before adding to the chicken, broth, water, and rice). Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and it was PERFECT. Very creamy and tasty. I will be making this every time I have leftover chicken, which is every 2 weeks or so. Thank you for such a great recipe!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
I followed this recipe exactly, except that I used light butter instead of margarine. I don't know if my butter was too soft, or if I stirred the ingredients a bit too much (and my daughter, who helped me and insisted on sirring a lot) but the batter was too thin and gooey to be rolled into balls. So, I plopped the batter by the spponful onto the cookies sheets and sprinkled with the sugar & cinnamon mixture. The flavor, taste, and texture is still delicious, but it is surely not how I expected it to be, especially after seeing the photos here, and also knowing what snickerdoodles should look and taste like. I will save this recipe and try again, maybe using margarine, or regular butter, and not letting the butter soften as much, and also not stirring so briskly. Thanks for the great recipe!

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
This was my first attempt at making any type of soup and it came out wonderfully! My husband and kids all loved it! The only change I made to the recipe was I used 1 lb of Velvetta and 1/2 lb of shredded sharp cheddar cheese. The flavor was perfect and the color was beautiful. It made a lot of soup so there are plenty of leftovers...which I love! Thanks so much for this recipe, I will be making this all winter long!

Banana Bread V

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
Followed the recipe exactly as it reads and it was delicious. Not dry at all. I did sprinkle a tiny bit of brown sugar on top, just to add a little more sweetness in each bite. Recipe does not state baking time, so I checked it often. It ended up taking about 1 hour and 10 minutes to bake. Very good banana bread. Thank you!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
I have never made homemade alfredo before and was worried it would come out horrible, but I was so happy with the outcome! I accidentally bought whipping cream instead of heavy cream (though I am not sure of the difference) but it still tasted delicious! Other than that mix-up, I made it exactly as the recipe says. I am adding this to our family favorites and will make it often!

Peanut Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2007
I just finished making these and all I can say is...WOW! These are great! I did nothing to change the recipe, though I did sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on top of the muffins to give it a little crunchy sweetness on top. They are perfect. It made about 15 average sized muffins for me so next time I think I might double the recipe since I have a large family. Thanks for the great recipe, I will use it again!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
The very best homemade pancakes I have ever had. This will be the recipe I will use from now on. It only made 9 (small) pancakes though (which is not enough for my family of 6) so I will know to double it next time. Fabulous, and thanks for sharing the recipe!!

Orange Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2006
My mom has made this Orange Salad for many, many years. I couldn't quite remember how to make it so I found your recipe. It is exactly like mom used to make and oh so delicious! Always has been a favorite of mine, especially during the summer months. Excellent and highly recommended. Don't let the though of cottage cheese in the recipe scare you away! It is delicious!

A wonderful treat for the entire family, and a great treat bag to give out during the holidays! I didn't have to use a whole lb of confect. sugar though, it was more like 1/2 to 3/4. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Peanut Butter Haystacks

These were easy to make, but be sure you have lots of room in your fridge to chill them! (Or set them in the snow outside, like I did!) Delicious!
