Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2014
Oh this bread is divine! Easy to make. And I am into making my life easier. Very few ingredients and that is a plus for me. Love the texture of this bread and I can't keep it very long before I have to make another loaf. I did exchange some of the bread flour for whole wheat. I like whole wheat bread.

Yummy Pink Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
Well I couldn't find the flavored ginger ale. So I used 1 cranberry/pomegranate juice and 1 ginger ale. Needed nothing more. WOW

Gelatin Divinity

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
I used raspberry flavored gelatin. Beautiful pink color. I don't like divinity with nuts, so I omitted them. Held up nicely, easy to do. I will make this recipe again.

Italian Sausage Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
I have made this many times and every time --everyone asks for the recipe. I have a teenage family member that always asks me to make this just for him every Christmas. This is all he wants. So every Christmas he gets a pot of this soup for his present and he is over joyed. It is sooo easy to please him.

Overnight Vegetable Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
My mother made this salad when I was a teen. Our family loved this. It earned the name "Fall Out of the Freezer Salad". My brother being a late night study hound had to have a snack. When getting ready to hit the sack and half asleep, he mistakenly put the bowl in the freezer instead of the fridge. Next day my mom opens the freezer and out falls the salad hitting the floor sending salad everywhere. From that day on we always asked her to make her "Fall Out of the Freezer Salad." YUM

Cherry Fluff

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
I have made this same recipe, but added some chopped nuts. Instead of chilling the salad, I put it in a 9x13 pan and freeze it. Stirring once while it is setting up. Take it out 10-15 min before serving to thaw slightly. This makes for a cool, yummy dessert. I also make it with whole cranberry sauce at Christmas time. Everyone loves this salad. Oh I almost forgot--I add juice from 1-2 lemons or 2T concentrated lemon juice to cut the sweetness. I prefer the real lemons, but when you are in a hurry I cut corners.

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
I have served this at many functions and it is always a hit. A group of ladies came to my house recently and everyone just raved at how moist it was. I didn't think it was soggy in the least. I love the moistness of this luscious dessert.

Caramel-Fudge Turtle Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
I have made these many times, but I wouldn't use a packaged cookie mix, I make my own from scratch. Nothing tastes better than from scratch. If you are in a pinch and want a fancy cookie, I guess this would be the way to go.

Hot Spiced Cranberry Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
I served this to my church choir Christmas party. I had over 40 people in attendance. Made a double batch and not a drop was left. I served it in my percolator. Easy for them to help themselves and not have a mess. They loved this. I shall definitely be making this recipe again. Having another party this next weekend and this drink will be on the menu. Thanks

Sweet Potato Biscuits

I have found that you don't want to overwork your biscuit dough it will make them dry and tough. These are great . Will make them again. Thanks for the recipe.

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
I made this cake--WOW it was so moist. I too wanted to cut back on the amount of oil and I used the suggestions of others and used 3/4 c oil and 1/2 c unsweetened applesauce. Do any of you know what is sprinkled on the top of the bundt cake in the photo? I want to take one like this to our church bazaar.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
These ribs turned out so moist. What a hit at a cookout I had. Fixed the ribs on the grill with a pan of water under the ribs to keep them moist. Grilled them at 225 and WOW were they good with the sauce. I cut back a little on the chile pepper, I am not very adventurous when it comes to too much spicy food. Boy this is yummy.

This was a hit at a dinner I had. Everyone told me to keep this recipe and make it again any time I liked. It is rather sweet, but I served small slices.

Chicago-Style Hot Dog

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
This is the ONLY way to eat a hot dog. Remember NO ketchup. Not allowed in Chicago especially on your hot dog. This is one of the things I love about my old home place. I still have to have one every time I go back for a visit. YUM!!!!!

I have made this for years. We also called it Puppy Chow. Before 2 gal bags came out. I used a large paper bag from the grocery store. Closed the bag and shook it. This is one of my favorite recipes for the holidays.

Chocolate Chiffon Cake

This is a prize winning recipe. My mother had this recipe and when I was in 4-H, I made this for the county fair-purple. And when it went to state it received a purple there as well. It isn't that hard to make and I love the texture, very moist. Great cake.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

My teenage son loved these brownies. Doubled the recipe and there weren't any left. He and his buddies made little work of this pan and I was asked to whip up some more. Guess they were a big hit.
