Butter Cookies V

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
delicious cookies! absolutely like what others said, taste like the danish butter cookies that came in blue tin. However, i have difficulty to roll them into a log though as the batter was very smooth. Not sure if this is because i overmixed the butter and sugar. so i just put in the parchment paper and roll it bit by bit and ended up in square. i refrigerate it for a day. but it melted quite fast after i took it out to slice, so i have to continuously keep it in refrigerator while waiting for the batches baked in the oven. maybe it's because i live in Malaysia (a hot and humid country). I wonder if anyone have advice on how to make it look nice as im thinking of giving this away as a give. can i pipe it out? Thanks SAMM for a great cookie recipe!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
this is my first time i make pizza and this recipe helps me produce a brilliant pizza! although i wrongly measure the water and it turns out as runny liquid after mixing, so i had to compensate with a large amount of flour (didnt measure how much as i only use my hand to add until the dough is not sticky) but nevertheless, it turns out just right! like other reviewer said, it taste like pizza hut pan pizza crust. thanks for sharing!

Easy Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
i use only half a can of tomato paste but still its too sour for my liking, maybe its the brand of the paste. I omitted basil as i don't have it. nevertheless they taste good. i simmer it for a while to get a thicker sauce.

Coconut-Cornflake Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
I don't know what went wrong. my batter is dry and crumbly, so it was impossible to drop on baking sheet. i had to ball them with my hand (messy process) and still they crumbled. nevertheless, the taste is good and coconut lover will like it. i reduce the sugar by half a cup though. Edit: I get fed-up with the crumbly mix, so i added some melted butter. it stick a bit but still crumbly but the taste is more delicious :D

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
The cinnabon came out of the oven nice! I added some raisin and chopped almond. However, my frosting became yellow instead of white, maybe because i didn't softened the cream cheese properly. I regret following other reviewer's advice to double the frosting because they are too sweet (for me). These rolls are best accompanied with black coffee, for me to cut of the sweetness...it does came close to cinnabon though! cheers!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
what I like about this cookies is the texture. they are really soft unlike many hard ginger cookies I've eaten. I can't find molasses in my country so i use sub as allrecipes advice, brown sugar+cream of tartar but the color of my cookies is light unlike how the normal brown ginger cookies. This is a good cookie but lack the ginger taste that I expected. The next time I'm making this, I'm gonna double the ginger and cinnamon. Nevertheless, a good recipe! #UPDATE# I had half of this batter in the freezer, so this time baking them, i rolled the balls in a 1/3cup brown sugar+/1/2tsp ginger powder + 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. This way, the ginger taste and aroma is intensified and they are so delicious!

Cut-Out Cookies in a Flower Pot

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
I should have listen to one reviewer statement that she uses 5 cup of flour instead of 7 because our cookies was hard it could break teeth! I made these with my friends today but the good thing is it stays on the stick. we only use a thin bamboo stick and it holds ok.the flavour was great though despite the hardness. we didn't use butter flavour because we cant find it. so we used almond extract instead.

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
OMG! This is the best brownies I've tried so far. Even better than the 5 star scrumptious fudgy brownie recipe in this site. I followed reviews from others though, 3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup cocoa (i used hershey's), and 1 1/2 cup sugar.Yes, this brownies baked thin. I greased the pan with some vege oil, line with parchment and greased the parchment as well. Brownies can be taken out of the pan this way. YUMMM!!!! ..now i'm scared of too much chocolate in my diet!!! :D

Pull-Apart Garlic Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
i dont have garlic powder so i use fresh minced garlic. next time i should try with garlic powder coz the taste of garlic is not so much. I accidentally overbake, so i've got a hard crust but still edible. however the inside is fluffy and soft just like i like my bun to be. thanks for recipe.

Crispy Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
thanks for this recipe. i like ginger cookies but its so hard to find in Malaysia. i tried the soft ginger cookie recipe here but i like it to be crunchy. thats why i tried this one, but its weird coz the only difference is the 2 cups of flour instead of 2 1/4 in the soft cookies. to ensure crunchyness, i added 1tsp of emplex in the flour mix. molasses also is so hard to find here, except the blackstrap at organic shop. so i sub the molasses with dark treacle. i like mine to taste the spices more, so i roll the balls in 2tbsp sugar + 1 tsp nutmeg and 1 tsp ground ginger, and keep adding in that portion untill all the dough finished. another thing is, coz i see the dough is too sticky and dont wanna get my hand messy, i added 1 tbsp of flour, then the batter is just fine to roll in ur palm. thanks so much for this recipe, now i make my ginger cookies myself :)

Honey-Oat Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
i made these with multigrain instead of oat coz i have it and replace 3/4cup of the water with lowfat milk coz i want to finish off the leftover milk. i also replace the butter with vegetable oil coz i ran out of butter. turn out fine and chewy. texture is dense but i like it this way. oh yea, i also, like other reviewers, got 15 instead of 24 rolls. this is nice healthy recipe. thanks!

Cookie Sticks

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
great easy recipe. produces a crispy at the edge but chewy in the center. I baked at 10 minutes and then let it stay in the off oven for 3 minutes more. tastes tad a bit sweet for me, next time gonna reduce the white sugar to 1/4 cup or use whole cup of brown sugar and maybe sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top of it to bring up the aroma...yum!

Buffalo Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
This is a very super duper big good cookies. I like it, don't care if one of the reviewer complaints about the calories. I use molasses to replace the brown sugar and only use 1/2 of white sugar called in the recipe. (I halved the recipe so for me it was 1/2cup). I make mine extra large, 10cm in diameter (view photo). Thanks for sharing, will definitely make again.

marvellous! this cookie is chewy as I like it and taste just nice. and before baking, the texture is very nice and easy to work with. I can tell that it's gonna turn out nice just looking at the batter. I added 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon and 3/4cups of chopped almond. Yummy. Thanks for the recipe!
