My favorite things to cook
I love to cook for guests. I like to mix up day to day cooking with new recipes or expirement with an old favorite recipe. It's delightful to cook with wine and the herbs I grow in my garden. Cooking with friends is an even greater pleasure.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was a child, Sunday supper: when everyone helped prepare fried chicken, cornbread, fresh greens, pinto beans and country fried potatoes and then sitting down as a family to eat TOGETHER! I prepare a healthier version of this on occassion or my husband and I now.
My cooking triumphs
I like to take recipes and make them easier to prepare. Not everyone has all day to prepare spaghetti sauce so they can make homemade lasagna.
My cooking tragedies
Baking a stewing chicken then serving it to my now husband as our first meal while dating.....It looked pretty but flew across the table like a rubber ball when we tried to slice it.....Hey - I was only 17!

Toasted Garlic Bread
Great recipe! I added finely chopped tomatoes just before the cheese. great color and taste.

Chinese Cabbage Salad I
I also added the seasoning package from the ramen nood noodles. The cashews are a nice additional crunch and flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Stuffed Shells III
This is a great recipe (minus the salt). I took the tip from other reviews on using a plastic bag to fill the shell much like icing a cake - what a time and mess saver. I also covered the shells with a meat sauce - outstanding. Thanks for the recipe.
