Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2015
This recipe calls for boneless pork loin which is not the same as tenderloin. For that reason, many reviewers have mentioned the cooking time being off. The cooking time is correct for a larger, thicker boneless pork loin, as stated in the recipe. If you are making a tenderloin, you will have to reduce the cooking time. The seasoning of this pork is delicious though. The reviews should not suffer due to reviewers using a piece of pork that was not called for in the original recipe.

Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
My family loved this recipe and my husband couldn't believe it was turkey. Because of the package size of ground turkey at our grocery, I had to make slightly more than the basic recipe. I made the whole batch into patties, sprayed a light coating of cooking spray onto a cookie sheet, and put the patties on the sheet in my freezer until they were frozen solid. They came off quite easily and I packaged them in freezer bags for quick breakfasts for several days. I will definitely be doing this again.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
This is the best stew recipe I've tried (and there were many tries)! My husband raved about it, all the kids gobbled it up in record time. I do want to say that there is no need to brown the beef before putting it in the slow cooker. In fact, it adds nothing at all to the taste or the tenderness. What it does add is more fat and calories. I wouldn't have thought that the best stew recipe on this site would have been the easiest, but the fact that you don't have to brown anything before putting it in the slow cooker is the beauty of this easy to make dish.

No Fail Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
So easy to make and it tasted delicious. Do make sure to refrigerate it a bit before you try rolling it, or it will be a sticky mess. Also it says it makes 3 pie crusts, but I got only 2 out of it. That was fine because it was what I needed.

Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I don't usually remember to review the dishes I try, but this steak sauce is so good that my family can't stop eating it on everything. My son dips all his food in it, and my son-in-law keeps putting it on his sandwiches too! Even my fussy daughter can't stay out of it. I will never buy steak sauce again. Thank you so much for such a wonderfully easy recipe that has made me a hit around here!

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
My aunt had me try these without using the word 'crab' cake. Good thing too because I hate seafood and I probably would never have tried them. They are the absolute yummiest thing ever and you'd better plan on making a double batch because they will be gone in a flash. They're also great reheated the next day.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
Made this for my guys and omg, the praises rolled in! My hubby couldn't stop ooohing and aaahing as he ate and told me we could have it everyday and he'd be happy. I made a couple changes, first I had no rump roast so I used a flank steak (london broil) that I had in the deep freeze. Secondly I used beef broth in place of water after seeing that in several reviews. The meat just fell apart when I touched it with a fork so I let it sit in the juices another 30mins or so after breaking it apart. Toasted a few hoagie rolls, layered meat, carmelized onions, and shredded swiss and melted it all under the broiler for just a minute or two. Unbelievable! Thanks for this recipe, its definitely going to be a regular here.

Grilled Chipotle Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
The smell of this marinated chicken cooking will drive you insane. We couldn't wait to dig in by the time it was done and boy on boy it was delicious! I think next time I'll kick the heat up a little more (I was a bit of a scaredy cat this time) or let it marinate a bit longer. I had no leftovers and everyone sat around holding their tummies like it was Thanksgiving. Ty so much for the recipe!

He-Man Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Decided to try this to wow my menfolk but it didn't go over so well. I think the chicken has to be thinnner than called for, it didn't cook on the inside until the soaked skewers were turned to ash. The texture in the middle was "weird" where the chili met the chicken meat. They did love the bacon-y, chicken, bbq sauce flavor combo. I think next time I'm going to just make the chicken and bacon part, and serve the chili and cheese on the side.
